Are CORR trucks the next class to enter the national spotlight?

I really don't see CORR taking off in a big way. The only advantage they offer over the established 1/8th classes is realism. The performance of a CORR truck is comprimised in a few ways compared to a buggy or truggy on the track, so the driving is kind of a step down from either class. CORR trucks also don't offer better bashing ability than a truggy, or monster truck because of their small tires and normal suspension travel. Also the SC8 isn't cheap, so starting off in the hobby with it won't be that easy. From what I have seen working at the hobby here is that there really isn't a lot of excitement generated by the Slash or Slayer with normal off the street people. The Revo, Tmaxx, or Savage create way more interest. Now those people aren't racers, but only 20-30% of hobbyists are racers, so I feel that interest at the hobby is a good indicator of overall popularity. My prediction: CORR trucks will be slightly more successful than 1/5th scale offroad.

give it a month or two and i think the price tag will drop it always does. also i dont think the way thease trucks handle will hurt it in popularity for racing its just gonna be a different driving style kinda like going from 4x4 mod to 2wd mod. totlay different driving styles. i just dont think there will be anyway for a spec class i would just make racers use the stock tires and no more than a .28 mill what else can ya do?

I hope it is the next big thing, like 1/5th scale CORR. I just got a Baja 5T and can't stop smiling. It has a wicked punchy motor and no more $45/gallon nitro. 40-45 minute run times on regular pre-mix fuel. 2 wheel drive is definitely different though. I have mostly driven 1/8th scale nitro buggy and truggy. This thing will drift and slide like a champ.
Here's my 8ight T next to it.

Stock class... club level... easy way to enter the sport/hobby... levels playing field cost and standards also making it a drivers class...
Probably can't/won't happen but it would be the healthiest thing to happen. Maybe easiest to make happen properly with electric slash... i love those things... Dunno... late... tired...
SC8 is something i would love to own, it will be a toy, fun fun fun unless a spec class takes off... then fun fun fun fun...

I like the 5T, but I can think of a few other things to spend $1400 on

To build any race roller 1/8th scale nitro car would be almost the same $1400 price if you had nothing to start with. They 5Ts aren't for everyone, but wait until you try one. Our local track is supposedly building a CORR track to go along with the outdoor track. I would still like a stock Slash to run indoors in the winter, but it the 5T is too much fun right now.

hey all: When we're talkin about the corr truck class taking off there are three types of trucks out there the slash elctric, slayer nitro and sc8 8th nitro. In my first post i was referring to the slash 10th electric corr truck. Thanks

think about what it would sound like with 13 baja 5t's screaming down a strait away in a 20 min. amain. dont know if i would wanna marshal that class but it would be something to watch. that rig looks like a ton of fun. 1400.00 is alot of money but if you build an 1/8th scale from sctratch you'll have over 1400.00 into it. the difference is if you buy the 5t its 1400.00 all at once as where building a kit most people just peice them together as they get extra cash. heck 700.00 for the sc8 rtr isnt that bad either and you get a glow ignighter and fuel bottle. either way i like both of thease rigs it just sucks that 5th scales arent popular around here. i will own the sc8!!!!
