If you have to hold the crank from turning Imo you should use a crank locking tool like this one.crank locking tool
This is exactly why I do not use locktite on the flywheel nut. I've never had on come off. I just tighten it super tight while holding the flywheel like Doug mentioned. If you do locktite and have to lock the crank the worse thing you can do is put all that extra force on the rod. Again just my opinion.

This tool has helped tremendously when screwing on the clutch nut to get it good and tight with no loctite. Worth every penny.
