Just leave the K bashing out of it , and be satisfied that another Japanese company won, with a Japanese driver, and Japanese engine. ( I know, the D8 was designed in the USA?)

Yes, Kyosho has done well in the past, but they also jacked their prices up by significant margins. I'm glad all these manufacturers came out with affordable buggies that can beat out overpriced Kyosho and Mugens. The new era has begun, and this will bring more people to 1/8 buggy racing. Good for the sport.
