Is it worth going for the lowered wing mount for loamy conditions??

I'm also thinking for trying the lexan rear wing out, how do they hold up for an average club driver??

You must be missing something, it allows just as much droop as the standard setup. You need the new shock body and new shaft.

I haven't ran it yet, but its just another tuning option. Slight change in suspension geometry as shocks are more upright, more uptravel and faster piston speeds.

I tried the lowered wing mount in the forward and rear position, i couldn't really tell much difference in traction until i put on the lexan wing with the lowered mount in rear position. The lexan wings are lighter and they hold up pretty good plus you get 2 for the price of 1 plastic wing.

Hey guys, have a bit of a scenario I'd like to bounce off you all.

I have the opportunity to purchase a NIB MP9 TKI 1, the one released in 2007. It looks like most of the wear items are compatible with the newer TKI2/TKI3 but is there anything that is irreplaceable?

Next up, this will be my first dive in nitro (for real this time! the other 3 cars were used and i was young/broke). Not planning on racing it but it will mostly see track duty with minimal "bashing". Anything that NEEDS to be upgraded/dated right out of the box? I am familiar with 1/8 electric platforms so this won't be completely foreign, but a guiding hand would help.

Last is price. Basically at "make me an offer". What's reasonable?

Look forward to my next new(ish) build!

Has anyone tried fuel tubing on shock shafts as suspension up travel limiters, on big jumps my chassis bottoms out and im losing time and speed trying to straighten back up. I just want to limit that last few mm of travel.

I wouldn't run limiters like that, you might need a piston that provides more pack.

What piston / oil / spring are you running?

The 1.3x8 provides great traction over the rough stuff but really doesn't pack much on landings, if you have large jumps or are not hitting the downramp consistently the stock taper pistons are an excellent compromise, hence why they are included as the stock piston.

I know that many people on this forum do not like them for whatever reason, but in my testing they have proven to be a great option if you cant nail the downramp every. Single. Time.

Your current setup is good for bumpy tracks with decent sized jumps, but you will bottom out on larger jumps, especially if you don't downside the landing jump or if they are flat landers.

Get a set of the Fioroni pistons. They are the best for big jump tracks. They allow you to land, the car settles quickly, and your back on throttle. They work well for a lot of different track conditions, but if it gets really bumpy and blown out, I like the 1.3x8 pistons better. With the Fioroni pistons, you will need to go about 5 wt lighter than your stock setup.

Do anyone have a idea what's the new droop setting for the new front taller shock tower and what hole placing works the best. I have the new taller shocks and the spring for the setup just wondering a good base droop setting thanks

I want to try the 1.5x5 pistons. Do I need to drill out the 1.4x5 pistons or can I use a HB brand piston?
