Yes, bolts right in. Just make sure you use the grommets from the HB Tank and use a washer on top of tank. If you do not use the grommets the tank bottom will hit one of the nuts that hold the side guard on. I also did dremel down that particular nut, just made it flush, to make sure it gave me no issues when running the car hard.

Here is what mine looks when I mounted it. Technically it does fit, but when I put the fuel line on, it is rubbing against the steering post. I flexed the tank a little bit and in my opinion, any hard hit will snap the nipple right off. I also don't see a great way to run the fuel line since it will be going right out the front towards the steering rack. I don't know, just my opinion. For now I am going to stick with the Xray tank.

Here are some pictures of what I came up with.

would grinding down the steering post a little help? I just ordered a d8 tank for myself and hope i can make it fit well. are the capacities of the xray and d8 tank any different?

That is how mine is also, but there is about a mm of space there. I have been running the car pretty hard, i mean cartwheels, jumped into a wall next to a triple in this just like this vid, the works lol and havent had an issue with it. FF this video to 1:50 and you will know what i mean. Not my car, but i did the same thing 2 times trying to make up time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwNeGeVdgCE

I think the D8 tank holds a lil more, but you could grind slightly if you wanted, it wouldnt hurt. Mine actually does not touch as i can see space so a slight grind would be good.

does it look like it rubs any on the fuel line or is it just enough room?

It definitely rubs the fuel line, nothing that would interfere with the steering, but my major concern is all the pressure being put on the little plastic nipple by the steering post and fuel line. Grinding the steering post will help, but I'm not sure if it would completely solve the problem. I'm going to stick with the Xray tank. The clunk is nice, but you really don't need it.

The Losi does have a clunker but unfortunately doesn't fit in the Xray. There aren't any other clunk style tanks that will fit the Xray that I'm aware of.

Starting to sound like Koby there CR

I was thinking about taking a junk tank and experimenting with it. I haven't had any problems with the stock one so I'm not too worried about it. I'm always up for trying new things though.
