Actually , according to Losi and a Losi/Horizon Rep they are designed and made in the USA . So who should be getting their facts straight ? I`m sure you will argue this like you do with everything else as you seem to think you are a know it all . Maybe you should go race with the pros so you can share your knowledge and get them on the right track .

Can anybody explain how the Futaba BLS-451 Brushless works, and what are its's advantages, since torque and speed seem similar to other good servos mentioned on the thread....

The only difference is that they use brushless motors, and of course are digital. A brushless motor has no brushes or springs or commutator which means there will be no wear on the motor. Basically a brushless motor is an "inside out" brushed motor, the magnets are the part that rotate with the rotor, and the windings are attached to the can. The rest of the servo is the same functions the same.
I use 2 of these servos in my 8ight, which replaced 4 of my Airtronics 358s, and am quite pleased. The main motivation was to try something new, and I wanted to move to digital servos with my 3pks s/FASST. They are plenty of torque for throttle and steering duty.

So both servos being digital, you can use the HRS on your Tx/Rx...can you really feel the diference??
This servo sounds ok for throttle/brake (with phenolic discs, you don't need more torque, and 0'10 seem fast enough), but maybe a bit more torque in steering would be nice. Maybe up to 180oz or so...??

The outdrives do come from the Mayhem. I'm not sure which others parts. I have never seen any of the Losi guys claim the car is made in the US. I guarantee the race rollers are not US assembled and the guys I know who run the Losi have told me of getting parts made in several countries. I believe the car was designed and tested in the US.
