try adjusting the pipe inward on the pipe wire at the front of pipe. that might move it in a little. from memory i think that's what i did with my FT GT2.

It's rubbing right in the center of the silicone coupling so moving the pipe doesn't change anything.

As for trimming the body...not gonna work either! There would be a gaping hole just forward of the rear wheel well.

I know this sounds trivial and all but I am kinda "picky" about stuff like this! LOL!

Do the non-PS mounts just lower the engine or do they move it inward on the chasis also?

no just lower the engine.

non ps mounts might do it. but you'd have to get non ps flywheel as well. a non ps manifold would help too.

not forgetting a new backplate and grinding of the crank.

does it matter all that much.

I was going to do the conversion BUT I don't trust myself cutting the crank! LOL! I am sure I could do it but I don't wanna chance it on a brandy new engine which is why I am looking for an alternative!

all you've gotta do is grind a little bit of the pull starter end of the crank. about 2-3mm that goes into the shaft that the one way bearing sits on.

it is a different size to the rest of the crank. you'll see what i mean when u pull the backplate off.

means pulling your engine apart though. maybe u could get someone who has experience to help.

I don't doubt my ability or experience in doing this. Just seems that there is no room for error! I didn't buy this thing to spend another $40-$50 to convert it anyway! I understand that my options are slim either way.

I am concerned about this because I would hate to buy an aftermarket body just to get it muffed up!

i did notice that my body was close on the FT GT2. so maybe it's a close fitting body.

i wouldn't worry about. just go out and rip up the dirt and see what it does. it's not like it sticks out at a 45degree angle.

it'll be goin that fast you wont see it anyway. lol.

That's the plan thus far! Just have to deal with it till I wear this engine out! LOL!

Default 18TZ

People running 18TZ motors in there GT2, are you happy with them? Have any parts broken from the power of the motor?
I have one installed, but have not had that much play time with it. Its still untuned and temps are around 115-135 degrees and i still clocked it at 46mph.

How much more speed can I expect out of it? This thing will wheelie down the road at 40+ mph when you hit full throttle. sick!

Associated still offers the FT GT2 as well as the RTR. I'm guessing the truck isn't going away anytime soon. Possibly plenty of people buying the RTR.

So, to kinda continue on with the non pullstart conversion, how hard it iTs? Do you remove the nipple on the end of the crank and that's it? What's the popular opinion of the Tigerdrive deals from Sullivan? I will upgrade the engine eventually but I wanna get some use out of the AE .15 first.

This is unrelated to the body rubbing, BTW!
