I haven't seen anyone using it. I think the stock piece is fine. I like my car in pretty much stock form with the exception of the alum steering saver top and arm, the alum bearing inserts for the rear and center diff. and the m2c rear outer pins. If it was me I wouldn't waste my money.

i installed some aluminum bearing inserts for the rear gear box today and the mesh is very tight and i mean tight!!....everything is lined up well and there is no slop on the pinion and coupler. i ended up having to put a couple thin spacers on the two top screws between the gearbox halves to have the mesh smooth out...
I used a dremel to take a little plastic out where the bearing goes for the rear driveshaft. (nearest to the pinion gear). Now the bearing can be moved in about 1mm. You then add a shim or two between the pinion coupler and the outside gearbox bearing to adjust the mesh. So far so good. I can keep the tranny together nice and tight and she spins like butter.
I'm sure you can find a drill the size of the bearing, and take a little plastic out. Doesn't take much to make it smooth as silk.

Previously it was clunky in only one spot, but when pulled apart I could not see any reason for it (no damage to the teeth, dirt/small stones etc). Now it doesn't bind as such, but is consistently noisy/notchy. I'm new to 1/8 (and RC really) so I'm at a loss as to why it isn't meshing well. I used plenty of grease on the pinion/ring gear and used similar techniques building my 1/10 diff/transmission which is exceptionally precise and smooth in its operation.
From Boostfiend's suggestion, adjusting the mesh of the pinion by modifying the case/shimming is a possible solution to the problem. Anything else I should try?
Edit- I've searched a little more and found several possible solutions. Some are recommending running it for a while and waiting for everything to 'wear in'. Alternatively, it has been recommended to loosen off the set screw on the rear coupler, push the pinion/bevel back towards the bearing and then tighten the set screw. Now I just need the time to try some of these solutions!

LOSA8370 - 8ight logo sheet
LOSA8371 - Losi logo sheet (large)
I'm assuming they include the same decals in the kit and roller. Those came with the kit.
