Jamee,
If you build it, they will come. It is really sad that there is no dirt oval to run on anywhere in the area currently. I think by building the oval in Lincoln you create a niche for yourself and don't have to battle for drivers as in the off-road situation. With no oval in Omaha, you will attract a large group of oval racers from this area. There are several of us that are just waiting for someone to step up and "just build it." There are plenty of people that are willing to help build, maintain, and assist in any way possible to see this idea come to reality!!

A friend of mine built a dirt oval track in his backyard out in Ashland so he and his buddies could race dirt oval. I think they run old RC10s and fabricated sprint car bodies for them. Nothing serious, just something fun to do on the occasional Friday night while drinking a cold beer. With the Losi RTR, should be pretty easy to get into the action.
Didn't the old Rockbrook HT have a dirt oval? Did anyone race dirt oval? I only raced my RC10 on that track once, and it was so long ago, I remember very little of it. I always thought that track looked scenic with the surrounding trees.

Yep I raced there. I did oval a few times then raced on the offroad till Rockbrook closed.
My mother actually sold the owners an English bulldog and then they closed three weeks later. I was scarred for the rest of my childhood thinking it was our fault.

Not too high banked, not too small. Just right

Great idea jamee.
Gas truck chassis based dirt oval sounds good to me.... Might just be cause I've got like 2 rc10gt, an rc10gt2 and a MST1 that I'm not doing anything with.
Another thing you could then do is do a Monster Truck based infield for Monster Jam drag races. I know that when Alex was doing regular Monster truck nights in Omaha that he got pretty decent turnouts.

Jamee...
Pay attention to that video. That track is perfect. Not too much banking, wide and long. And the dirt is rooster tail kinda dirt.
