I'm curious about caged body for my next MT410 body. Currently i'm looking at my super thick and durable outcast body and may try to fit it on my MT lol

Thanks! I'll get some video up soon. I think the Losi cage is going to hold up great for this truck. I've already got at least ten runs on it...accompanied by many crashes and lid landings. BUT, the MT410 is much heavier in comparison....and I do much bigger jumps with it. So I can't really say how it'll hold up under severe bashing.

Here's my "refreshed" MT410. I really like the look of the VW Baja body, and I wanted to give the ARRMA Outcast wheels/tires a shot. As you can see I'm not much of a painter, but I'm happy with how it came out. Ignore all the junk in the background.

Lookin good! Have had lots of different bug bodies on trucks over the years. I only have one on a D8t right now.
Chop up that Mater toy and use it for a body!

Thank you. That's a great idea. I have to measure it up and see if it'll fit on one of my 5th scales.

Got a part number for that LOSI body? Looks like a good body to try next.

Hi guys,

A little advice please. This indecision is bugging me...

My electronics have arrived. I have a Hobbywing Max 8/2200 combo, and I have an extra HW max 8 ESC, just alone (ordering error). I also have a 16T pinion and PL mashers, and will begin with 4s. For those who run the MT with a similar set up, what would be the best option to run for cool temps while bashing? I am after optimal run times and whatever would be the best option for not putting strain on the electronics and drive train.

A - Order a lower kv motor and run the mashers with the 16T

B - Run the 2200kv and order PL badlands (small)

C - Your advice running another way??

Also, what would you do with the extra HW max8 ESC or the Max8 combo, whichever I don't run? Send it back, or keep it for a future kit?

Thanks as always,

-MP

Optimal run times is running 6s to beginn with. I would run the shock waves and the 2200kv motor and also having a motor fan. I have never had any success driving with no motor fan or ESC fan to be honest, except when it is snow out side. I would send back the other ESC and claim refund incl. the shipping costs.

It's a Losi TEN-SCBE body
Losi: TEN-SCBE RTR, AVC: 1/10 4WD SCB (ORG): Losi (LOS03007T2)

You have to buy body and cage separately. ...and the jerks don't even supply the screws needed to assemble them.
Best deals are eBay.

Take drivetrain strain out of your equation...it's complicating things for you!!!
The TEKNO drivetrain WILL take the abuse of huge tires. Diff and driveshaft failures are a rare thing on these trucks except for very extreme abuse.(or assembly mistakes)

Your electronics should be ok even for large tires if you don't bash nonstop like a crazy person. Being you're in Mongolia I take it your ambient temps outside are usually cool or cold(and low humidity)???? ...if that's the case you should be just fine. The electronics overheating is definitely more of a concern with hot and humid climates.

I'd say just have 2 sets of tires. One set monster huge...and the other more reasonably sized like Badlands. It's fun switching...a simple tire change makes driving these things a completely different experience. Big tires for flips and stunty driving and smaller for a lower stance more controllable truck.

I would run a 15 tooth pinion, which is the smallest that will fit.

Thanks for that chainsaw.

Here is another quick one. Was at an event so I busted out the Tekno.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I have sent the HW Max 8 ESC/2200 motor combo back to Amain. I will run the Max 8 ESC with a SkyRC Toro 1950kv from Juice RC. It has been suggested that that motor will do fine with 16T and L mashers.

After building for a couple of Sundays, and taking my time, all that remains to be built are the shocks. This kit has been a joy to build. I think many folks are missing out on a big part of this hobby now because of the RTR stuff.

RTR is not fun, but people want it easy and simple. Or they want parents to buy expensive toys for their kids. I personaly think it is insane to let kids play with these stuff.
