I broke my rear diff pinion gear last night. I managed to find one in stock but it won't be here till late next week and I'm dying to drive the truck this weekend. Has anyone ever run in RWD only? I'm wondering if I can take the pinion out of the front diff and just take out the long center driveshaft to disable FWD.

That will not work without a fully locked center diff.

Some pics from my build: pic 1, 'the D bag' tee hee; pic 2, 2wd Slash rear hub carrier vs mt410 size comparison . Bags A-E done. Halfway thru bag F I said 'F this', I will wait for my Tekno shock/pivot ball tool to arrive. I hope it has magic powers, which I have decided is what is required to push those pivot balls into the camber rod ends. Overall, the build is very cool. I'm glad I got this kit.

Hi guys. I'm taking my time, building on weekends and it will likely be at least a week or more before I get to electronics. Here is what is presently on its way: 1 Hobbywing max 8/2200 combo, 1 Hobbywing max 8 ESC alone no motor(ordering error), 4 proline mashers and a 16T pinion. Would I be better off with option A: run the HWmax8/2200 combo, send back the mashers and order shockwaves. OR Option B: send back the HWmax8 combo, keep the ESC alone, order a motor >2000kv, and run the mashers?
Thanks for your opinions. -Mongol Pete |
It is up to you, the mashers balloon more and are heavier. The shockwaves are lighter and have less deep thread pattern. I would get the HW and 2200kv and get the shockwaves, just for the sole purpose of less ballooning.

For an MT I personally don't really care about tire ballooning, as speed and handling is not the purpose of an MT anyway and I have other cars for that. I do like the positive effect of lighter tires on the electronics and drivetrain wear/breakage, but do the Shockwaves provide enough in air control and "flip-ability" at low speeds?

the mt410 has such a short wheelbase, it will be fun with the lighter shockwave anyway. check out my videos to see what i can do with a regular long truggy and light truggy tires ( 200 gr each ) on 4s ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6a3FFPVXMy0 )

I had some downtime between heats at a race I was at this past weekend. I had my MT with me so I did a couple of quick hits. The jump was about 4-5 feet tall with a large drop-off (15-20 feet high) and flat landing. Shot it with my phone in slow-mo.
I mainly use the MT for a side business and usually don't get video of it, but figured some enthusiasts would enjoy the slow-mo. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fhGKjuWb6RY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

That is a massive jump lol! Great driving skill to land all of those tricks. I've come across your channel before but didn't know you were on this forum. Vids are very entertaining, keep up the great work!

Great slomo, going huge off that lip! Any breakages from those huge jumps or does the long grass help with impacts? Is your MT mostly stock?
Other than the extended hex adapters to help make room for the MX Badlands it is stock down to the box set-up. I've dropped it out of the sky literally hundreds of times. It takes it. |
Great video DOb! Is that a triple backflip i see (second jump?).
