awesome, just in case i ever need parts, but i don't see that happening. Do you know if the 1717 will bolt right up to the same plate as the 1515 2200kv?

The 1515 uses 3mm mounting screws while the 1717 uses 4mm and TDR has 3mm and 4mm mounting plates. The mounting bolt pattern is the same for each motor.

I would've liked to swap an electric specific chassis onto my truck (to get rid of all the unnecessary holes) but I'll wait until I see some handling reviews posted first. It'll be interesting to see if other motor mounts like TDR's fit up front for those wanting to put big motors like the 1717 in there.

A quick look at the parts listing shows 24/66 gearing. It's unclear what bevel gears are used in the trans as the listing just says "LST/2, XXL/2" with no tooth count given. I'd assume they're LST2 or XXL otherwise top speed would be too high for the 2200kv motor or 6s.
They are providing two pinion gears with the kit. The 24/66 gearing if for 4s use. There is also a 20 tooth pinion gear included for 6s operation

I've got one on pre-order and I can't wait! It's going to be a BLAST paired to my DX4c with 6s power!
I have been wanting an 1/8 MT for awhile and this is the 1st that looks to be everything I want all in one truck. The Ofna Hyper MTe was close but not there.

Wow, that's a lot larger than I thought. Looks a bit taller than the Yeti XL but with a shorter wheelbase. I was planning on picking up a Yeti XL, but will look into this instead. Too many durability issues with the XL too.

I'm sure it will. I am running one on my XXL-2 and the chassis sure appear to be the same.

How do you think this will compare to other 1/8 scale electric MTs currently out (TT MT4 G3, E-Revo, Savage XL, etc)?

I have two nitro LST2's, and an MT4 G3. The XXL-2E is going to cost -and weigh - a lot more. IMO, among flashlight trucks, for the money (European prices anyway, where the MT4 G3 is cheap..), nothing beats an MT4 G3. The Losi will be nicer, but cost a lot more. Nothing - again, for the money - is going to outbash an MT4 G3.

I would never consider a Traxxas under any circumstances anyway, nor a Savage really..

Well IMO, any truggy like the MT4 or Kraton is not a real monster truck. While the typical truggy platform is a much better handling car than, say, an LST or Savage, I think the latter are much closer to a RC monster truck.

I think the Savage is a great truck, but they need to release an electric XL version with some updates. I think the XXL2-E looks pretty standard as far as LST's go, but it's easier and cheaper to get into than buying the gas/nitro version and converting with he overpriced kit Losi sells. At least with this version, you can drive it electric out of the box and you have the opportunity of upgrading the mount to accomodate a 1717 later if you want, since a lot of LST owners seem to like that.

Both the LST and Savage are heavy trucks. I've only ever had a Savage and I think the Flux XL (which requires you to convert from a normal Flux) would cost you more than one of these. I think the main disadvantage is the parts support and aftermarket options which the Savage has a bit more of. Can't really go wrong with the XXL2-E now though since it is relatively cheap. I think maybe the small A arms and plastic axle carriers may be big weaknesses of the wider and longer LST.

I've been teasing the idea of buying one myself considering all options, but I already have 2 1/8 scale RC's now and I really have no need for it...but I do want one.
