From what I have seen, people either go with the Gen 3 Slipper setup from Robinson racing or they get some sort of slipper locker like Alza Racing offers.

For me I wanted the benefits of the Slipper setup so picked that up. Also still got NIB the Kersaw designs slipper spring for better slipper action.

Cain, what chassis are you using? Is it the Alza one? I just picked up a Savage X and want to convert it just because I already have the esc, motor and servo. I would like to use 4s packs just because I already have them lol did you go with the Alza motor mount also?

It is the Alza one. For the motor mount, I have the 1717 one here, just not the motor. The previous owner modified a mount to fit the Castle motors, so I am using a 1520 motor.

The 4S packs even on the 1520 1600Kv motor felt good. It was nice low end grunt (turned down like 50% on castle MMM I am using), actually could even turn it down more its that powerful but had reasonable top end. To me doing speed runs isn't what this is for, its for rumbling through stuff with lots of power.
