My Clod is going to be close to the $1500 mark I think.

1/8 is a blast. Id get one if I were you. I have the Tekno EB48.4, NB48.4, ET48.3, NT48.3, X-Ray XB8E, Associated RC8 B3.2e, Arrma Kraton, Talion, Typhon, And LImitless. They are all Epic.

I’ve been 10th scale for 30 years. Racing on and off since I was 9, I just travel a lot for work and racing has taken a back burner to life. Hard to drop a ton of coin on something I’ll rarely use. My SMT10 gets a lot of mileage and I know a clod based build would too.

I hear you. I rarely race anymore myself I just like quality. But honesly get something like an Arrma Kraton. Simply the best Basher out right now. its big extremely fast on 4s and Ballistic on 6s. Jumps awesome. watch a couple videos on youtube. they take a beating.

Wanted to share a build I am just finishing up. I did a full JConcepts / Shapeways Clod Regulator conversion.
  • JConcepts designed Shapeways parts for the axles
  • JConcepts Regulator chassis kit
  • JConcepts ancillary parts required for the Shapeways axles (steering setup, motor tubes and mounting plates, steering brackets etc)
  • JConcepts 27 turn monster truck motors
  • Associated SC6.2 Rear Shocks all around
  • JConcepts Golden Years tires and grey JConcepts wheels
  • As it's a nearly 10 pound truck I went with one of the strongest servos I could find, Protek 370TBL with over 600oz torque and am doing two of them for four wheel steering.
  • Full ball bearings from FastEddy's
  • MAKE SURE if you start this project to buy a full supply of various sizes of M3 x .05 Socket, Button and Flat head screws.
  • Will be adding the JConcepts 90's style blue and teal bigfoot body.

I am new to Clod Busters but have been a long time fan. I have been selling some of my other RC projects to fund this and have been compiling parts for about a month. The longest wait was for the Shapeways parts. This is by far the most expensive RC project I've undertaken to date, and it's not for the faint of wallet lol. I wish I had taken more photos as I assembled this. Enjoy!

Very cool. Will be looking forward to you sharing your impressions once you have had a chance to drive it!

Let's keep this thread alive! Here's my stock clodbuster with some upgrades

Associated ProSC10 shocks
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...428165fb3f.jpg

Used the stock servo location to mount my electronics. Upgraded to a hobbywing 1080 and soldered a splitter for dual motors.
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...907b7477e9.jpg

Trimmed the top plate for the wires to clear. Might look for a better top plate in the future.
https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...81ddac6b69.jpg

Jconcepts behind the axle steering and rear lockout. Also used a hudy low profile servo horn to clear the steering rack on full lock.

Does the stock bumper still fit with the jconcepts behind the axle steering?

Yes, I've seen someone do it. I've never done it myself though.

Ha! Yes, it drives VERY VERY well. I haven't had time to finish it and paint / install the body, and also need to paint and install the faux wheel hub covers. It's completely stable in both 2W and 4W steering. I will try to get a video of it soon.

Good eye! I had to have it, I hated the original screws.
