Pretty much any body will fit on it. Many will require longer body posts. Any T-Maxx body or generic MT body will fit. Traxxas Jato, Rustler, AE T4, etc will all fit with some modification.

I've seen some people running Jato bodies and they look kind of cool and are narrow enough to actually work.

If your going for a more scale look, a lot of the maxx bodies do the job..there is a Jeep Rubicon body that works well on it - requires longer body posts as mentioned - and also a Hummer H2 body too. They don't crawl as well since they hang over the tires some but they look more scale.

How do you eliminate the torque twist? (if possible)

Red face What motor & esc combo do you run

Hi All,

Well after reading a couple of other forums on the above subject.

I have Axial Scorpion and would like to know what everyone is running in there's !

I am trying to get some sort of feel as to what to buy,

So is it a brushless system of lathe system ?

And what esc do you run so well.

I know that the Axial Scorpion is only 2.2 But I want to get some sort of feel as to what to run.

I will have my new Axial Scorpion rock crawler very soon.

Thanks
Chris

Lots of torque, more than a 45-60T lathe motor, and way more wheel speed with a 7.4v pack. If you run a 3s LIPO you get a ton of RPM and good low end control for slow crawling. With the stock gearing my truck does about 12-15mph top speed, but has so much torque on the low end I can crawl real slow.

Makes a huge difference if you are trying to climb up steep slopes, or just hop over stuff. You can clear gaps easier, etc. Wheelies on carpet or grass, and makes the truck just more fun to drive than watching it slowly work it's way over to an obstacle.

Brushless sucks for crawling. I don't know if it will ever work right. You just can't beat the holding power of two brushes being held firm against the comm - its like having a disc brake on the driveline that you can adjust by spring tension, that combined with drag braking in the ESC and the brushed systems just work better. May not always be the case, but it is right now.

U.K. hardcore i have been testing and i have found if u put a heavier weight oil in the right rear shock it will help with the twist and add on shock spacer to it aslo.

It hasent ran since the week i got because it felt to "stock", i wanted 4ws and battery on axle conversion but those werent out yet then.

Now they are and when i have some time (and money) i'll get the crawler finished.

I know some people have talked about issues with the AX10, so here are some must haves (upgrades):

RCP Crawlers straight Axles
RCP Crawlers C-Hubs
RCP Crawlers Steering Knuckles
Axial or STRC Bent Links
Axial Front Battery Mount
Axial Drive shaft adapter (the ring that keeps the shaft from popping out)
Proline Rockstar Body *new*
Narrow 2.2 tires

Am I missing anything else?

Something new and nice to have is the STRC graphite top plate.

I like the weight of the rig, I put the bent links, and have 100% droop shock set up. I think if I can get the shocks figured out, it will def be comp worthy! I am just having a hell of a time figuring out the shocks. If anyone has any suggestions please tell!!!

I work for Canyon Krawler RC in Reno and we working on a full droop setup AX10 for a customer this week and got it rocking pretty good. I'm not quite sure what springs they were that we ended up with but the rig had our full stage 2 kit on it and I'm not sure what springs they were but they were a hair stiffer than the Losi Mini-T Green springs. We found 30wt worked good in the front and actually no oil in the rear. Wasn't quite as good on the steep climbs as one of our stage 2 Ax10 standard setups but it was a little better through the bumpy rocky section of test track.

Default upgraded lower links

Can you install the bent links in the rear? I've only seen them installed on the front. Does the stage 2 set-up work alot better than the stock set-up?
