They race 1/18 scale monsters and do pulling on carpet.

I'm slowly getting closer to having a race ready truck. I've built a clod with a crawler chassis that I've modified to set it up better for racing. I just purchased an ESC and it's on it's way. Soon I will be able to install the electronics and at least get to drive it.

Now I'm excited. I just got my clod going for the first time. I didn't waterproof it so I just played in the house but I can't wait now. The is the first time I've driven a Clodbuster for about 12 years. Back then I had a bone stock one. I still have the stock motors in mine now but they were plenty for inside the house.

I've met a couple more guys with racing clods in MN and they said they'd be interested if there were events to play at.

Well, unfortunately I found out that 2Extreme is a scammer on here and many other R/C sites. I quit trying to work with him on it but I still want to make something happen. I understand that a club type arrangement could maybe make this move along quicker but I'm not the best at setting that sort of thing up. I'm more of a believer of "If you build it, they will come". So I've been slowly accumulating items to make this possible. Just this fall I started to build a small dirt oval in my little back yard that could also host arena style monster truck racing. No need for insane brushless systems or 10 turn doubles but maybe 4 wheel steering instead. As things get closer, I will definitely post more info.

I had my truck out a few weekends ago and was playing in my little "arena" in the backyard. I set up a single ramp out of a couple small logs and just bashed a little bit. Man these trucks are awesome. I was getting some very cool realistic looking air. Now I'm even getting a little excited to go to the Monster Jam show at the Dome this weekend.

How many others are there out there with solid axle trucks that you know of? I used to run with the MMTR guys WAY back in the day, but from what I've heard, they've been MIA for quite a while...

I have a contact list started with about a dozen. Plus a few have already posted in this thread that have them or interest to get one. I'm just hoping for a little interest to have some fun at first. Then by posting pictures and videos in a bunch of places, it might gather interest. You can buy complete clod axle sets from TowerHobbies now and then a 4 link racing chassis and have a crazy fun truck for less than getting into some of the RTR independent suspension rigs. Some people just need to know of a place to race them before investing.

Well, still have the idea of some Clod racing in my head. Does anyone have an idea for a timing system? I know an AMB type transponder system is usually preferred but with more of a side by side drag racing type of format, it's not needed. I've looked into building something but was just wondering if anyone had ideas.

Also, I'm in need of old R/C bodies to help with an arena setup. 1/10 scale preferred. Touring car bodies work great. Because of what I'll be using them for, I'd rather not pay for them. I'll take them as beat up as you could imagine. Please let me know if you have anything you'd like to donate.

Thanks
