what is the ESC you have exactly? brushed, brushless, etc?

What battery are you using? (NIMH, LIPO etc)

How are you charging the battery?

You could have a low battery or you may need to re-calibrate the esc.

There are two new indoor carpet tracks in the Portland Or/Vancouver Wa area, Rose City Scale Racing has an onroad track in Yacolt Wa, and PDX RC Underground has an offroad track in Portland, been in contact with both about running mini class, going to take our LC Racing SCT conversion Rally cars to the Rose City on road track on the 9th to see if they'll open a new class, this Friday PDX RC has a race, going to take the SCT set up trucks to test at practice, both have interest, but would need at least 4 cars/trucks to start a new mini class, anyone with interest let me know, will update!

LiPo is here and ready. Orange DSM2 RX will be here this week. ARTR Truggy is on order and should hopefully ship in the next 10 days. Now I need to start laying out the track. I'm thinking 8' wide lanes, luckily I have 4 acres to work with.

If you're running by yourself then 6 feet will be plenty for that truck. Have you made a track before?
Watch out for low spots or puddles (lakes) will stay muddy longer, keeping you off the track.
Try making close to an equal number of right/left hand turns. This evens out tire wear a little more.
I usually don't make many or any jumps at first. Just make it with the turns and drive around to see where you want some jumps. Sometimes a jump is a main part of the track design, like a cross over jump but I like to add most of the jumps after I've got a feel for the track.

Good luck! Let's see some pictures of your work.

There should be a group of us running before too long. ROAR recommends 8' lanes for 1/10th scale so I figured it would also work well for this scale. Grade of the area will be the first thing I address. I've been playing with different layouts, trying to keep left and right close to equal.

keep the jumps small to medium, when I built our track, i did the same no jumps, then built temp jumps from plywood and 2x4's til i was happy, seen to may tracks with huge jumps, seems like all there doing is running around flipping cars over!!

Yes plan to keep is flat at first. I'm working with a 40'x130' area that has a few sections that could bump out further.

ran a race day here. Went quite well. We still get issues with popping off ball cups so we are going to address that with RPM ball cups, specifically the truggies.

Also noticed an issue with the eclips wanting to come off of the shock pistons.

As it sits I want to play with the pistons a bit here. I feel for carpet they need a bit more pack as some of the big jumps we have here, it can land a bit funny, too much chassis slap, so may make some here.

Only other issue we had was the clip that holds the pin on the cvd together came off on one of the vehicles. never seen that before. so of course its lost and the pin too.

Built a track on our property last Spring. Was built for my Grandsons to race our 1/18 SC trucks on. I built it with 7' wide lanes and it worked out great for 2-4 trucks racing on it!

Good luck!

we had a race this past sunday, vehicles were laying down some fast laps! the buggies with the rally tires on them on the indoor/outdoor carpet we are using are nuts. No sauce needed.

Truggies with stock tires are pretty fast too, just have to work on suspension a bit more.

For sure though going RPM ball cups, that seemed to be the main issue we were having.

My one daughter did have a cvd come appart, the clip came holding it together.

Nitrorcx has the red thriller brushless for 20% off and free shipping. $133 bucks for the brushless version shipped.

Pulled the trigger. Seeing these run around the 10th scale trucks makes me think I need a third class to run!
