Overall quality is pretty good- just missed details like countersinking and the loose front axles.

Several brushless motors will fit the stock plate.

well, I think my mind is made up. I am going to get a scalpel. I have always been partial to pan cars but I dont really want to race. However I do want to start experimenting with brushless motors and that could get vey expensive with 1/10th scale. I also think it would be fun to see how fast I could get something that small to go.
Too bad CRC doesnt make a 1/18th...

Yeah, What he said. It's not a "type of motor" specific plate, it's the size. Scalpel stock motor is a 300, so theoretically any 300 size or 24mm dia motor will fit. The brushless motor plate is for a 180 size motor, I think. So you could prolly put a brushed 180 motor on the brushless plate.

I don't have any of these things so i could be mistaken.

Mamba motors (20mm/180 size) will fit the stock plate. The optional plate is machined specifically for that size & the fit is better.
Xray m18 pinions work well, they are plastic but have a set screw.

A buddy of mine has been running aluminium pinions without any problems, the pinions that come with the kit are junk as the motor will spin inside of the pinion. I have been using the M18 pinions as they have a set screw.

How about a 300 Brushless? or would that be overkill?

Default Axel

Can some that has this kit measure the axel for me? I want to know the length end to end. And the length from pinhole to pinhole. Thank you ever so much.
