I'm thinking of getting a Mirco RS4 for bashing around. It seems like they're fairly cheap these days. Was thinking of potentially setting up a track in the basement. What is the smallest turning radius can it have? Would it work on a Mini-z track (lanes are 2ft wide)?
|
I have a MRS4 with a Mamba 5400 combo and a Penguin LeMans cf chassis set. The handling is tightened significantly with the adjustable rear end plate, ball diff, and front spring set, but my car would still be pressed to run on a Mini-Z track unless it is very open or running the stock motor. The best tracks for the MRS4 are those designed for 18th-scale racing (with RC18s and M18s) or larger, but you can certainly set a track up in a basement as long as they are closer to 3 feet wide. I run my car on the street frequently and it is a great bashing car as well. The Mamba system affords great run time, btw.

Any suggestions on the gq tires shore numbers im gonna buy 2 sets, one is for a tennis court track we have setup, and the other is for regular asphault at the local track. which ones should i get.
|
I would suggest evaluating how your car runs as-is right now and use that info to determine which shore tires you should get. I personally have some heavy understeer under most conditions (need to swap out the front spool), so I would probably grab 25 or 30 fronts and 40 rears. Tbh I don't know what the difference between C1 and C2 foam is for the GQ line. Depending on how those run, though, you can make adjustments using tire sauce / traction compound.

C2 is for carpet. For carpet 50 C2 front and 35 C2 rears is generally a good starting point. If you want to get equialent compunds for what you have, generally: Front: Hard = 50 Medium = 45 Rear: Medium = 40 Soft = 35 |

hi there, planning to buy a hpi micro rs4... just wanna ask if i can install my mamba25 esc and 4400kv bl motor from trinity NOW with the micro rs4?
pls help. thanks |
yeah you can install it but you might need some basic upgrades first before upgrading to brushless.
|
....
planning to buy the rs4 kit version on ebay, whats include with it? does it have the battery case for AA and a stock motor? thanks
|
If its a new kit or completly stock, it will come with both. If you install your mamba, you will need steel front out drives and alumnum or steel pinions .

http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m...943/micro3.jpg |
so how do they perform and what compound you use?
|
hard on rear soft on front, they grip really good and they last twice as long as the orion fresh kicks, and the hpi ones, i still gotta get the GQ foams though.

Alright guys im having a serious problem with lipo placement, I moved around all my electronics so that i could switch between the batteries the battery is all the way on the chassis but im thinking the car may be a bit off balance. ill try it tomorrow at the track to see if affects the handling somewhat.
