My updated times. Had a pretty good run until I started to traction roll. I guess the tires warmed up.

Thanks.

With a 70T this car just works. I have 2 local tracks - one is a little smaller and this car is awesome on it. Almost perfect on the 2-wide L sized tracks.

The second track is quite a bit bigger so this car is really just relegated to the mini96 and the smaller local track

Good to see a GLR on the track. I may need to get one of these as well as I just love the GLA.

Sound like you are having an issue with traction rolling. I have had no issues with my 90mm wide car traction rolling but the same chassis at 86mm running the Stratos body will TR if I ham ham fisted. I will also TR my 94mm chassis once the tires get a bit of heat in them.....again I can pretty much eliminate it if I am gentle at the end of the long straights......I have actually come around the turn at the end of the straight in two wheels a number of times and kept it shiny side up.

I did not get to run this weekend but I will get some laps in nest weekend.

I converted on 94mm car to LM spec so I will need some time to get it sorted. I was kind of bummed switching it over as my 94mm chassis felt so good.

Cheers,
Jim

It’s a work in progress. This car is surprisingly easy to drive and it just go where you want it. The TR is mostly my fault trying to whip it into the hairpins. The GLA seems to slide a bit better now that I adjusted the rear turnbuckles. This car just needs more tuning. It is quit a bit faster and smoother than the GLA or the MR03. I just swapped over to my new TX and have some new rims and tires (different Offsets and compounds), that should keep me busy for a while. I’m also having to sort out a stripped servo arm on the GLA so it’s parked.

I was able to try some different tires on the GLR last night. I went with some Kyosho radial 20 front and the car does not turn as well as with the pn slicks. It just pushes through the entire turn. One good thing is I can adjust the angle of attack and keep on the throttle. Bad thing is the left front tire is wearing fast for just one battery pack. Should I go back to Pn slicks or do you guys any other suggestions. All though I can stay on the throttle through the turn I have slowed .07 on my fast lap and added 15 seconds overall on my 75 lap stint.

I just got a pretty ripping run in on my Pro-Stock car. I have been playing with my LM chassis this morning and have it going pretty well. This was the third attempt on the cells so I was down on power but the car was super consistent after making a small change and only had about 6 seconds on forced errors. I broke into the 3's with a 394.5s. I will update my Pro-Stock times later on as I have to go be The Wee Man's driver today ;-)

Duckman.....I am shooting for you next in the stock class ;-)

Cheers,
Jim

That is quite a difference... I wonder about using super soft rear tires or firm fronts to try to balance the car more to your liking if you feel that it has too much steering. I would recommend against lowering steering angle on a track this size and with such tight corners.

Good day on the track. I have to say I have learned that the LM configuration is fast. I spent a lot of time trying to beat Duckman's stock time with my RM GT1 90mm chassis and just could not even get close, I got down to 410 which is a significant improvement to the my GT3's 435 (same set up) but still significantly off from Duckman's time. I swapped the motor out of my GT1 to the 787 and boom....first try yielded a 399.7.

I had similar luck running my LM chassis in Pro-Stock I spent a bit of time getting it sorted but the car felt good pretty quickly. After this morning's run I tried again and ended up with a 391.1s.

I have to say having a time to chase is super fun.......I kind of feel like I cheated going to my LM car for stock but I tried really hard to get my 90mm chassis on pace and while I did not make it I did make the car MUCH faster then it was. That was fun.

Cheers,
Jim

At the end of the day I had two cars which have never felt better.....Super cool having a fast time to chase. I actually have ended up using full throw on both cars and just not using it all when I can. On the GT1 I went from 1.5mm offset to 1mm and more worn KS Med slicks in the front.....that was all the car needed and it was really good. I realize that running 75 laps is hugely different from running 20 laps. to make a good time doing 75 laps you have to be super constant and minimize unforced errors....I could make the car go faster but being constantly quick is the ticket.

Cheers,
Jim

This was from the other night. I had a pretty good run but trying too hard ends in traction rolls. I have to work on my consistency tomorrow. I’ll try some different tires and offsets.

Oh man....so close....I have done a 5s average lap over 20 laps but it is still alluding me when I try to hit that over 75 laps.

Before running this morning I gave the GLA a good cleaning and packed the dampeners. I was still getting a little hopping in turns and literally took a 1/4 of a turn on the rear camber links (a tiny bit more of negative camber) in the hopes it would cause the tire to slide a wee bit more and not catch the edge of the tire and this seemed to help a lot. The car felt totally hooked up on this run but I did have two decent taps with the armco......

MD,
That was a smoking fast fast lap you did there. When you start to string those together you will kill it.

Cheers,
Jim

Sadly... my last run on the 96 track as it will be going to another home.

Spent a couple hours running the stock car (my other cars are too dialed in on the tracks I race at locally) and finished with my best run. I think I have one major park in the whole run - the rest of the laps were pretty clean. After seeing the last stock time I wanted to leave with a bang.
