I bought it as a slider, and I put a V2 A06CLS Ti gear servo, HobbyWing Mini28 ESC, MXO NB4 Rx, and a GL 3500Kv sensored motor in the begining, and it was nice, and almost a tenth faster than my GLR. I then added Atomic V2 front axles, V2 Rear Pivot Block, Servo Saver, and Vertical Spring Kit, and HOLY CRAP, I LOVE IT!!! It carves the corners , and runs straight as an arrow on the straights!!! I will get a few lexan bodies to try, as I tried my old Mako X but it had been fitted to a few different chassis already, and it's pretty chewed up! But with the "Ghost" Jomu, my white Jomu with clear roof and wing, it's DAMN FAST!!! A HUGE THANKYOU TO DAVID K. and LEE MORAY for getting me going with my MRX ME!!!!!! https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...47e7942e4c.png https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...acf07d607e.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...543fbfd7e5.jpg |
I was thinking for March/April layout we would pick from a layout we have run in the past 2 years. I would post numbered pics of them and we would vote. About half the current drivers have been here at least 2 years.
How does that sound? |
So far I have narrowed
Soo hard to pick 2! :p Revised: after looking back at my times and notes, im voting on 1 & 2. |

OMG, joelisenat laid down some out of this world times!!!!!:tire: Still trying to figure out my Porsche car, the steering gets locked to the left somehow after I tap the wall with the tire. I can feel it catching when I manually move the steering but not sure what is causing it (all the way to the left only, to the right is smooth). The servo motor doesn't seem strong enough to pop it out until after I'm nosed into the wall. The last fast run I had I just really made sure to avoid the wall on certain turns and then decided that I had enough of that car. |
Class- BOX STOCK
Date- 1/26/2026 Location- Lake Forest, CA Race Time- 4:14:53 / 254.53 Fastest Lap- 3.16 Chassis- Kyosho MR03 Rwd Body- Corvette C8 Wheelbase- 98mm Tires- KSK40 paper thin / Marka 15 worn down slicks Wheels- Nexx 20mm/ Discs +1/ AMA Racing +3 Motor- Stock Silver Can Batteries- LADDA 750 (Ikea charged at 3amps) Front Springs- Kyosho Red T-Plate- PN #4 Carbon Motor Mount- MM2 Dampener (If applicable)- No Dampener Fluid (If applicable)- Tamiya AW grease on upper shock Gearing- 7T Pinion (PN Pro Match) / Stock Differential (44T) Note- Biggest change this month is going back to MR04 front conversion with stiffer front springs. AE anti wear grease inside gear diff to slow down action. Car was very edgy and wanted to traction roll with the KSK40 even with discs but it I got the fastest times with this setup. Car wanted to roll on the 180 so i lost a lot of time and consistency suffered. 2 big wall hits but even with that it was the best i can do this month. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...dc3982489c.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...7028bb6b60.jpg |

These are the Layouts starting from 01/2024 to current. I was thinking we can do it like last time, pick your favorite 2, post them, and we will vote between the 2 most picked the last week of Feb for the layout on March/April.

1 and 5. Anything but 9 though. I think that was my first and I didn't like it, just smashing the car into the diagonal straight wall (turn 5) over and over.

Lots and lots of laps. Still kind of surprised comparing my times, I just kind of kept chipping away throughout the month and landed some really consistent runs. I seem to be outside the norm when it comes to braking, as I used the brakes into the turn one hairpin on all my cars. Keeps the car settled and I have better rhythm when the cars stay on all four wheels (surprise!). I think with the discs dialed I had all the steering I wanted and traction rolling was gone, which in prior months was always a struggle between not enough grip and launch the car off the track traction rolls.
Still trying to figure out my Porsche car, the steering gets locked to the left somehow after I tap the wall with the tire. It sounds like what my cars do when the tie rods wear out. It's something I have run into with all of my 04s even my 03s with 04 steering! I read that either the wide AA or wide 03 tie rods will fit on Narrow 04s. I haven't tried it yet, as I'm hoping someone will release aluminum 04 tie rods in the states! You can get them overseas, but I'm not willing to pay 30% tax! I just keep a few sets of the plastic tie rods on hand, and replace them when they start sticking. The pockets that the knuckle pins fit into wallow out, even after polishing the pins mirror smooth. The usually last 3 or 4 months on the cars I drive alot. Hope this helps and Keep up the Awesome driving! |
