Well Hell, I went to run my MR03 readyset I just made into a Narrow, put it on the track, gave it some forward throttle and was good, went around the corner and needed reverse. It didn't move, then SMOKE started pouring out!!!!! Before I was able to get the body off and batteries out, it melted through the chassis! After getting it apart the board is FRIED! I don't know WTF happened, ran perfect last time out, and motor/brushes are good. Now the house smells of fried electronics!

thats a bummer! How old is the board?

T-Plate- stock
Motor Mount- stock
Dampener (If applicable)- stock
Dampener Fluid (If applicable)-Dry
Gearing- 7T pinion
Notes- I ran this twice already, I did 45 secs better on this run. the turns mess me up as I was use to the short or medium turns from February's track. This is a fun fast layout, being the track is larger. Definitely need slowing down early from the straight.

It's only a few years old! I looked and looked over the board and didn't see anything wrong. The only thing I can think of is that the motor wire moved and touched the power wire during flex of running by the way it acted. Now I just need to decide weather to replace it with a RWD or EVO board. :sneaky: And yes this track drives much different than the last layout! It's fun and fast, just takes a bit to get the different steering reflexes down. Have FUN!

I would go Evo unless you can find an old MZ414 RTR board. The MZ414B seem to die easily due to static.

I've ordered a 90mm MM mount for my Yaris project. AS for a replacement board I've put that on the back burner, as I plan on using an MR03 EVO MX5 chassis I already have, since the class (MX5) is open. But when/if I do replace the board it will be with an EVO board! I would rather be able to go Brushed/Brushless when I want! I really dislike dealing with the brushed motors at this scale!

chjosi, did you get my PM? I replied back to Ya, but my cpu glitched when I sent it, so I don't know if you got it. Thanks Bud! Drew

I ran the new layout for about the 4th time, and I put it on the clock to see where I am at. My hands aren't the best right now, so I had more mistakes than I should. It's a fun and fast layout. Good combo of fast and tight turns. I have the spoiler on the 12C, but I will probably remove it as I am fighting TR off the end of the straight at high speeds, so I have to let off more than I would like to keep it on its wheels. I had to turn the throttle D/R down 12%, Steering D/R down 6%, and -Expo up from 0% to -25% compared to last months layout. Anyway hope Yall are having fun! I had 2 rolls at the end of the straight. 1 from clipping the inside corner rail, and the other from TR.
ProStock, 12C, same setup as last month

I got my Nexx Racing 90/94mm MM pod in today and go it rigged up. The damper Plate took some figuring to get it mounted somewhat at the correct height, but still needs work to get it centered on the post. However I do it, it's got more deflection/flex than I think it should being raised on 2 posts like it is designed. I plan on searching to see how others have done it, and hopefully work it out. It runs quite nice, but different than the 90/94mm RM Nexx pod. It has much more mid corner steering with all else on the chassis is the same. Now to get the Yaris body painted and mounted up!!! As for the gearing limitations of the Nexx Racing 90/94mm MM pod I found I could fit a 12t pinion with a 53t Gear diff and the motor ( Rocket 15mm 3500kv) with enough clearance for the suspension to work, where a 13t had the motor pressed against the back of the chassis. I went down to a 11t IIRC (maybe a 10t) for extra clearance, and it RIPS!!!

This layout is fun! But high risk high reward fast and flowing but mistakes usually end up being costly ... Still trying to get those mistakes to less than 6-7 a run...
