How about:

Motor: Speedpassion 21.5R (or some other $35 motor), motor with a no timing can.
ESC: blinky (Dollar limit? No more than $90.00)
gearing: 5.8 FDR max, nothing lower.
Tires: Mini specific, but would like to see Sweep 40s and Sweep 33s.
Max wheelbase: max 235mm min 210mm
max width: 160mm
Drive type: FWD, RWD or 4WD, gear or ball diff, no one ways, spools or locked diffs.
Body: TBD, Brick like, top heavy, prone to roll over.
Minimum weight: 1250g

Breakout laps: Set the best lap -.5 seconds. Anyone runs a lap faster, it doesn't count. Yes the software can do breakout laps.
All mod mini guys ok with this?

I'm in.

Personally I would not buy one of those specifically, they are non-serviceable & would not work for any others coming in off the street unless some one is going to stock them & guys from other tracks are going to buy one.

I'll take one of the 4wd please...

Yeah, I want to take a couple more minuets between rounds tweaking the system every week...
We can call the open class "21.5 Pro Mini".... it will still never be a spec. class like the Tamiya "M" chassis class could ever be.
Suggestions are great, a willing inspector has to come forward to do spot checks & fix it so the program doesn't grind to a halt..., I'll still gladly check cars before or after, but rarely are there formal protests.

At this point we need willing racers to show up

I had the Trackstar in there originally, but thought better than to add salt to the wound. I do not want a motor that can't be rebuilt either. I know there are others out there with no timing on the can. Hobbywing has one for sure, but is still around $70.00. 21.5 Pro Mini is much better sounding.

I think the breakout lap is pretty simple, we can look into it and if it doesn't look easy or useful we'll forget about it.

Breakout is simple, & easy to adjust... but depending on lay out & how much traction comes up it is a number that will always change.
If done wrong someone usually gets pissed.
0.5 second a lap is all some one needs to make up & go back to sandbagging until the last couple laps...
