Hey guys, i am looking to get in on the VTA class on friday nights....

Ive got my:

TC4
Havoc 21.5 Brushless system
Venom 2S 7.4v 5000mAh Lipo
VTA regulated body, wheels and tires....

NOW....what do i do for gearing? does anyone run that setup have the perfect gearing?

Cody Woods just won on Friday with his carbon fiber chassis TC4. Not sure what gearing that he ran, but I run a TC3 which shares the same transmission. If you are using 64 pitch gears, I suggest using a 84 tooth spur and starting with a 46 tooth pinion. This will give you a 4.56 Final Drive Ratio or FDR. That is a good starting point for running at Indy Slots.

If you find that your car is handling welll, then you can gear up to the max of 84 spur to 50 pinion for the max FDR of 4.2.

I suggest staring with silver springs in the front and green springs in the rear for a TC3 or TC4. Go with 30 or 35wt oil and #4 pistions. As far as specific camber, caster, toe settings I'd start with the box stock setup and adjust from there as it will give you a car that is easy to drive.

- Cody Woods had his 1st A-main victory in VTA this past Friday!! (He also won Mini-Cooper)
- Bob Cordell has the most VTA races at Slots (33) and is regularly on the Podium in the A-Main
- Greg Hallenbeck has the highest A-Main winning percentage - 4 out of 5 races
- Houston Thomas has the won the A-main with the most different chassis (3) - TC3 (or TC4), TT-01, and TC5
- Brian Smith has won the A-main with all 3 motor combinations

A bunch of us Underground/Strictly racers will be there. Jtec has a FUN program and they know how to run a venue really well.

Just wanted to take a chance to point-out the good turn-outs that we are getting on Friday nights at Indy Slots. Normally I just focus on VTA, but this time I looked at all the classes running. I combined the 1/18 classes into 1 category, but the bulk is 1/18 on-road stadium trucks (no jumps).
