having gas soak out from between the heads and intake manifold is perfectly normal right?
idk what VW was thinking using metal gaskets for that job. so my new never running properly engine is taken apart again lapped the manifold pieces and got paper gaskets and Permatex copper spray a gasket. it'll fucking seal now! should run after i get it back together.
also swapping from a slowly dying generator to an alternator. guess what. the new alternator stand didn't fit. had to elongate the holes. then lap the sealing surface of that to cause aftermarket quality
so my weekend has been interesting.

A nuclear war would definitely be the end of the world. As mentioned, as soon as one gets launched, the other side will their finger on the button. There are plenty of anti-nuclear missiles, and other forms of weapons to take out nukes, but it's the stealth ones that will be the dangerous ones. Also, I'm told there are low flying short range missiles that can be launched from subs. They just have to get to a shoreline and launch it off. It will make impact before it gets taken out. But, like my FBI friend says, we will see a lot of huge dirt bombs taking us out before those nukes do.

Time to go out and get some house cleaning supplies.

I don’t think it’s as simple as ‘they fire a missile and all hell breaks loose; launch every single nuke, the kitchen sink, and their fat mama at them.’ As I said, it depends on who is doing the firing. If it’s a small, nuclear-capable country like Iran or North Korea, we have enough kill vehicles to take them out. Then we would obliterate them using conventional weapons, again assuming no other nation joins in. I think missile-launching submarines have been a thing since the 50s. If you mean nuke-capable missiles, I believe that was back in the early '90s with a Los Angeles-class submarine, but it could have been an Ohio-class. If anyone wants to know what that missile is, it is a Tomahawk missile. They have a version that carries a nuclear W80 warhead. Also, they can launch the missiles while submerged; they don’t have to surface.
