I really hope they keep the voltage at 8.4 though. If they allow it to be raised all the old batteries we all have will be obsolete. Hundreds of wasted dollars in every racers pit box.

Skiddins 11-01-2016 07:08 AM

Even when they do allow them, doesn't mean that the voltage you're allowed to charge to will definitely be changed.

Apparently as they are not at the peak of capacity, the curve is less steep.

Sounds good in theory.

HV are not yet approved by any governing bodies, but it's very close. IFMAR are going to allow them, so expect BRCA stamps very soon and ROAR not long after.

Intellect have had their SHV's BRCA legal cells out since early this year. I have been told in less you can charge over the 8.4v which rules here don't allow then they are not as good as normal batteries, I found the same when comparing new vs old

IFMAR rules will be 8.4V still.

It's the nominal voltage that increases in the rules, not the charge level.

That makes a lot more sense.

How does the box stock setup work on high grip crc carpet?

I'm building mine now.

Should be a great starting point on both the old and new carpet. We usually don't stray too far from it.

I personally don't feel the need to do it too often. I do check the shocks for air and if I feel/hear air I will rebuild then. Or if I want to try different oil, that's it. I don't really worry about the diffs either. Once a year roughly.

Hi all, is the t4 17 stock setting have ton of steering? I am coming from 1/8 racing many years back. Am coming back into EP touring. I hate understeer cars, they are a pain in the *ss to drive aggressive. I am not a set-up PRO. Thus can any bros here advice what are the main 5 things that we can set/change on the t4 to have massive entry to exit steering. :)

I run my shocks at 9.2mm from the bottom cap to the bottom of the eyelet. In other words - just the visible part of the shock shaft.

Seem to recall I use 57mm, end to end.
This leaves roughly 1mm of the rod end thread showing.

Haven't raced since, gee, mid(?) 2014 & last Xray kit I built from new was T3'12, so as I hope to restart racing in 2017 I took the plunge for the '17.

I bought a couple of used chassis '14, '15 & a '16 just to pull apart & rebuild to get a feel of the "progression" that has taken place with the brand.

I've always had Xray (though have bought other brands out of curiosity, including recently) but none compare to the fit & finish, speed of the build etc

The only things I wasn't a fan of were the bearing mounted sway bars which seem to be the fashion now (can use T4'14 bulkhead & go back to old type) & the central flex arrangement, too fiddly-arse for me.

Or perhaps I'm just getting old....
