Hey guys...I have watched peeps drift all the time, and would really like to get serious with drifting, so I have a sportwerks recoil. (compatible with tailwhip drift parts) Is there anything special I should know othther than locking diffs and pvc slicks??? (can`t find Abs yet)

Is it possible to just throw on some slicks and drift like that??? I know I have to get good, but to drift I would be using my second racecar...s I would need to be able to quickly put on some foams and race...

Got some awesome drifts the otherday in an asphalt lot huge curve 50 foot drifts and properly broken in drift slicks!!!

Ive been drifting on the Black ABS exclusively and love it. no issues what so ever. the trick is balance the throttle and brake.
My new car is coming soon. I have been using a HPI Rally that i converted, but now im going to run my TC3.

I have also been using an HPI rally that I just bought used. In my Trueno body, I have a 3 AAA battery pack in the middle of the body, and that added ballast has actually made the car handle amazingly well... Very responsive to throttle and steering as well as giving me the ability to do long sweeping drifts or snappy kickbacks in an S turn.
Momo do you by chance have an extra rear left lower arm? Mine is partially cracked...

You should still be able to get the arms. Check w/ your LHS and see if they can get the part. I might have a used one at home. I'll check in my parts box. I have a complete RS4 at home too. part # - A450 should come on a parts tree w/ a F arm as well.

Nice suggestion peetie 
I am not familiar with that chassis...but just get ABS and go.
My biggest suggestion is PRACTICE! Practice is the most important thing you can do. In anything. Experiment a bit at first, get used to how the throttle affects the car.
From my experience: I've never been instructed on drifting, but I have probably been out on the asphault over 100 times since I got into 1:10 last summer. I feel pretty good about my throttle control (extremely important), and am now working on more responsive and complicated maneuvers such as short S turns or figure eights.
Anywho remember that if you gas it right away and turn, you're going to spin out. Start out STRAIGHT, and turn gradually. Once your car starts to turn, gas it a tiny bit more, and either keep the same steering, or let go of the wheel. You can actually control the angle of your drift with the throttle.
I'd experiment with something like that for 5-10 times just to see what happens. THEN add steering to the picture, and lock in on a throttle position so ONLY steering is changing.
Isolating each factor of the drift will help you understand what each do, independently. After a while you develop an innate sense of what to do when you want your car to go a certain way. You really can feel it after a while.

Perhaps I should've been clearer...
I'm not exactly a beginner, been racing and now into drifting. Most of my chassis are Tamiyas and HPIs, so just wondering if there is anything I need to know on XXX-S in related to drift setup.
I know it is an old chassis being 'D' repackaged, and I'm just trying out this one
