Serpent Project 4-X

Sadly, our carpet season is over and I won't be able to drive this car until next season as I am only racing nitro outdoors this year. My thoughts on the Evo 4x were positive. I only had an issue at the beginning of the season with the links breaking. After replacing all of them with new ones, no more problems were found. I also never broke any parts on the car. The durability is very good! I ran both the Montech racer body and the Type S from Protoform. Both of these bodies work real well in stock racing (21.5). I did try the Zoo Preopard body but found that the car was too stuck. While the Preopard made the car super consistent, I found I couldn't make it go faster (perhaps too much downforce). I think the Zoo Preopard body would be awesome in mod on this car which is something I'll probably try next year.

i managed to assembly mine this week-end. Nice build, quite easy. Evo shocks need a little bit more attention than the original ones. Fixed length links are HUUUUUUGE improvement. Steering and rear rockers have a lot of play (Seriously, who need bearings there?) and needs micro shims. Once done, everything seems precise. The "new" rear center roll is more promising than the previous ones also.
The only design flaw for me remain the absence of inboard toe, I'm already studying a way to change that...
Last thing, are people really using oils from the kit? lol

The play in the steering is rather unbelievable.
We made some Delrin bushings to take out the slop.

RcMarket just send me the parts which were initially back-ordered. I don't understand this shop, either they are really really good (parts available, fast back ordering, reasonable shipping costs) or very very bad (forget your shop credits, don't tell you when your back-ordered items are not available anymore)
By the way, I'm very impatient to test mine.

BTW plan to get a new chassis plate when you’re upgrading.
The new chassis got quite a few more holes down the center line. The Aluminum one has the same part number as the EVO, but they added these holes after the fact.

Mine is very promising, I just order some other springs to experiment the new roll centers... Clearly, the PRO is working way better than the first version (not tested the EVO).
By the way, conversion kits are on the way, there seem to be two of them:
- Upgrade set 4X EVO to 4X PRO (SER401805), about 100€
- Upgrade set rear 4X EVO to 4X PRO (SER401806), about 60€
So full upgrade or the rear only...
