It's going to be a learning experience for sure.

The next part I need to understand is how the heave an roll dampers work together.

It will change to roll of the car. If you have the stock setup you need to remove the F/R stiffener. The current kit setup have a high roll center. changing the shims to 2 mm will lower the roll center for more over all mechanical grip.

You need the Vertical top deck, 7 mm short roll ling and the linear suspension.. The car is night and day with this upgrade.

Heave dumper = controls the weight transfer of the car from front to rear.
Roll Dumper = control the weight transfer of the car from left to right (also act as a sway bar)

If you are raising on asphalt I suggest this setup.

Front/Rear Heave dumper = 2000 CST with 1 hole piston
Front Roll Dumper = 3000 CST 1 hole piston
Rear Roll Dumper = 2000 CST 1 hole piston

FYI: This is a good starting setup for spec classes only. For mod class you want the oil a little harder.

I found the vertical top deck and the linear suspension upgrade, however, I don't know what the 7mm short roll link is. Is there a specific item on this page that shows that item:

Serpent Model Racing Cars - Product - Project 4X Touringcar EP 1/10 - Optionals

Nevermind, I found it.

edit:
Do I buy two sets (7mm roll damper support) or just for the front roll damper?

What makes you say stock set up has high roll center? Maybe there is a new default set up for EVO I haven't seen? Or maybe you measured them? When I eyeballed, both front and rear had very low roll centers. But I could be wrong cuz it was just eyeballing.

Stock setup use the f/R stiffener for those to fit instruction suggest 3mm shims under the top arm which raise the roll center of the car. by removing it you can drop to 2mm shims to lower the roll center. Changing shims to different thickness under the top arm changes how the car roll side to side. Same basic principles as to any traditional TC.

I'M talking about the 4x not the evo that is coming out.

Anyone know a good place to buy Serpent Model Racing Cars - Product - Roll damper support -7mm carbon 4-X (2). If I try to buy them from Serpent America I have to pay $13 for shipping. I can't seem to find them anywhere but oversees.

Nope. You're mistaken. With thinner shims on upper inner arm, the upper arm will be more angled hence you raise RC and dynamic camber.
erchn and DavidNERODease like this.
