Gear diff leaks!
I had the same issue with my TA07 that I had with my 419, those dang gear diffs are leaking even the front that I'm using 2.5 mil in is leaking all over. It's been a while since I built my 419, I forgot what I did so it would leak as much! I need help! I'm using the red O-rings and using green slime and Tamiya anti wear grease. So, now what do I do?

Shim the the outdrive to apply pressure on the O rings. They need a little bit of compression to seal. I doubt it will be a big deal to have a little more resistance if they're on the front as a heavy action diff. The 5mm shims worked best sandwiched between the diff housing and the O ring. If you place against bevel gear and O ring, it will wear a groove in them fast and start leaking again.

Lately, I've been building my 419 diffs mostly as instructed. I do replace the small pin with the longer one that comes with DCJs, anti wear grease in the bushings and on the outdrives, orange orings, and weighing 1.5g of oil. They've been holding up pretty well in mod. They leak a little but I can get by without maintaining them for a few weeks.

Anyone know how come 417 front spool will rub on the bulkhead when used on ta07? The pully will rub on the top over. I thought they should be the same exact geometry? Waiting for the TA07 front direct hopup from Tamiya right now. In the mean time my 2.5 million front diff will do.

First day of testing at Tamiya America showed the car having great pace without much tuning. I was able to get within one tenth the fast lap of my ta05v2 of the day. The car needs some more tuning but I can already see it surpassing the ta05 in the near future with more optional parts.
The car is extremely fast out of the corner and have very low straightaway drag. The steering is very sensitive and carries a lot of corner speed. It is also a good match to the NSX LW body I tested today. The car inherently has a lot more rotation that my ta05 which is a great thing since it is always easier to tune the steering out than to gain steering.
However the car is a little too edgy for me for now with the given hardware in the kit. The chassis is pretty flexible and for my driving style I prefer a slightly stiffer one. I could not get my 417 spool to fit so I had to use the gear diff with 2.5 million oil in front. This makes the car a little too sensitive off throttle and harder to correct the car's trajectory once committed. I first used 3000 oil in the rear diff and was a little too loose on throttle. I went to 5000 and is pretty happy with the choice. However I think using spool in front can make the car a little easier to drive and take some pressure off the driver. I also want to try the ball diff since that has always given me more on throttle stability in the past. I was still using kit yellow springs but will go to big bore red next to get slightly more stiffness.
As of now my ta05 can get out of the corner faster but ta07 can enter and take the corner fast. However with some minor adjustments I think the TA07 should have the edge. Other than the ta07 is hard to get the motor wiring down, I don't see any obvious ease of use issues yet. The track surface at Tamiya has changed a bit after Reedy from my personal experience and my TA05v2 is off the pace as it used to be. But regardless, the TA07 can pretty much match my old favorite on the first day out and it seriously impresses me.
Overall I'm very happy with the car and is seriously debating which car I should use now for nationals.
