Got this problem on a Tamiya TT-01R but I think this is common.
Just bought a Tamiya Ball diff for the TT-01. I assemble the diff and put it into the rear gear housing and it seems to fit. But when I put the stock dog bone in, the dog bone seems to be too long and is binding with the diff cups. I've already removed any rubber o-rings in the diff cup already and it is still causing the same problem. Any idea how to fix this?
I've heard I might need new dogbones or universals. Which ones do I need (can you list brand and model, does not have to be Tamiya).

How about the 3 Racing Universal? http://www.3racing.hk/products.php?products_key=3794
Or anyone know if the 3 Racing dogbones are 39mm?
Well it sounds like I only need the 39mm length axle, don't really need the cups right?

Your going to need it replace them all or get the universals. If you switch the dogbones to the 39mm then the ends will be to small for the cups you are using so then you will have to switch out the axles and the the balldiff cups. Here is a fuzzy pic of my ball diff with the axles installed.

interesting...... so would the universials have a bigger ends?
I think Universals will be a cheaper option if that is the chase but are all aftermarket universals the correct length is the question...

When I made my order I ordered the axle and dogbones for the Tamiya TG10. If you get the universals from 3racing made for the TT01 they will fit but I dont know if they will fit the stock ball cups that come with the balldiff. As long as the part is made for the TT01 they should fit. I only got universals for my front axles since they were expensive at the time and felt they would be more beneficial for the fronts.

Racebucks or rccardr (or anyone else): Do you think the TT-01D kit would be good for someone to start racing with (changing tires of course), as it comes with bearings, oil shocks, etc.?
Edit: sorry, as opposed to the regular TT-01 or TT-01E

oops, I meant the TT-01D with a tire change versus the TT-01 or TT-01E...
