yeah, the anodize job does look real good.your lucky to have a good plater near by.finding a good plater is like trying to find a pube on a pornstar.its tough at least around here.alot of them butcher the parts.i sent my FK05 out and the aluminum inserts for the hinge pin block looked like they were chewed on my a mongoose.

Wide turns when entering corners...pushing correct?

Well I was talking to the Steve @ Larrys and he suggested to keep my Dark Purples up front and put my AE coppers in rear, thus I had Xray whites in rear before, so there a bit stiffer.

What are your suggestions?

Also, my Motor is having problems. My brushes keep getting hung up and my motor slowly slows down, then stops and does not move at all. I take the brushes and pull them out so they "snap" back in, then it seems to work. What is the problem? I have them soldered on same side as battery motor wires btw. Im going to pick up new brushes tomorrow, and my motor was just cut too so its clean.

Please help me out guys!

-Mike

just make sure the shunts on the brushes can easily move and don't get hung up on the hood. as the brush wears, the springs may not be able to move it in to touch the comm. I'm sure there are some other reasons and hopefully the more experienced racers will be able to help you.

every time i build a motor i always make sure the brushes slide through the brush hoods with no resistance.if there is any dust, dirt,or remnant from foam tires i spay them out with motor spray and run a q tip through there.i always need to peel some fuzz off the q tip so it fits in the hood.

What are the "Shunts" and what part of the motor is the "Hood?"

Anyone on the pushing?

Thx, Mike.

the shunt is the braided wire that sticks out of the back of the brush.the hood is what the brush slides into.

the shunts are the braided wire coming out of the brush. sometimes it will get pushed up against the hood (the metal tube that the brushes slide into) and will not allow the brush to move. Make sure the wire off the brush exits the hood from the back and doesn't bend over the side of the hood tightly or it will get hung up.

maybe someone can help? I thought I read some where that there is an optional carpet shock tower both front and rear for the T2, is this a error or did I read correctly??

I had a similar problem until I moved the motor to the upper position. I actually watched my car slow down to a crawl on the back stretch only to find nothing wrong with the motor.

Don't put new brushes in without cutting the com. Then make sure you clean out the hoods when you have it apart. If you solder the brushes on the endbell make sure you do not let the solder "wick" up the shunt and cause the wire to become stiff (common problem), it can't move from spring tension if the wire (shunt) is too stiff. Then every few runs spray out the motor and relube the bushings. Or if you keep having problems with the motor find a nice garbage can drop it in and buy a new one.

Your springs sound close, I have an Associated red (22 pounds) in the rear and it turns like crazy, with whatever color the 33 pound X-Ray spring (light purple). Or just use an Associated purple in front and copper or red in back. Then move on!

There are lots of options to make a car turn or not: roll center, camber gain, caster, tires, amount of dope, body, shock angle, number of holes open in the shocks, shock oil, body mounted forward or back.......should I go on.
