What gear ratios are you guys running with Mabuchi's? I think I remember what I used to run with the F1 tires, just verifying.

I used a 4.7 (104/22) ratio @ SIR with the kit type silver can and it felt very good. I would think on a longer track like Tamiya you would need to gear up to 4.5 or possibly taller.

At Trackside we were running 93/24 or round about that, give or take a tooth or two. Really dependent on how your motors run.

Brad, do you remember what we geared for TA? I was figuring with the tire diameter difference that I could use the rollout to kinda get me in the ball park from the old F1 tires to the sedan ones, but not sure.

I cant remember for sure as I am very bad at keeping records of this kind of stuff, but I think I was gearing in the 27,8,9 range with the 93 spur. You guys always had a better handle on the F103's at TA than I did so you may have been completely different ( if I remember one of you guys were running a 100 spur at one point, but I cant be absolutely positive) Im trying to figure out if I will run GT2 or 103GT at the Nats this year.

The only time I have seen a broken T-plate is when the car was run over by a real car. Are you running indoors on carpet. Running in GT trim with a full body, the breakage should be next to none. If you are referring to the ball pivot rear suspension, for the F103GT, it doesnt work so good, but for an F103 F1 it is a good alternative to stock. For help with the T-plate issue we need more details.

First I broke the origional Tamiya T-bar, then ordered the graphite T bar. I broke it racing today and could not complete the race because my track doesn't stock tamiya.

I am using the Opel Astra body. I run outside on asphalt. The races are not clean, and lots of rubbing. Both times I broke the T bar was due to getting pushed into a wall. I was coming out of a corner and another racer took it hot. The back of my car was clipped and it hit the wall. The rear tires hit the wall hard and due to the design of the car it caused the T-plate to snap.

I was looking for a T-bar that is a bit more durable. Has anyone tried the T-bars from Kawada?
