Yeah Rod, I was talking to JasonC about the gear striping thing, and the free spin last weekend or so, and he said it was mostly about how you set the mesh in the box's. 20 seconds?!?!?!?! sweet , kind of like these ? lol

I was thinking of running/racing my EVO at SoCal... Good idea, or Bad idea?(but first I need to get some more gears for it and I don't want to mess it up too bad... You know how SoCal is )

I wouldn't worry too much about that. As long as it's free it's fine. The fact that a belt car like an XRay can win in a stock race goes to show that it probably does not affect the car that much. For me, at the level I am competing, the speed of the car is NEVER the problem--my driving on the other hand...

Hi Bubbles, it's a good car at socal but an almost entirely different setup. A car that's good at the TA track will seem pushy at Socal. If you do plan on running it at socal, try moving all of the shocks to the outermost hole, run 3 hole pistons with 50 weight all the way around, yellow springs f/r, yellow stab f/r, keep the inner camber links stock f/r (if you want more mid corner steering or more steering as you load up the tires during a turn drop the front inner camberlinks one hole), droop at 7mm f/r measured from setup board to lowest point on supsension arm (you'll notice there won't be much in the front) 4.5mm ride height with race tires (5mm with tamiya setup wheels) suspension block spacers stock, and a B block in the rear. I think that's it and adjust accordingly.

It's a good car to run but it depends on how much time you want to put into switching setups.

yeah also, the rotational mass on you car and drive train makes a big difference!! . your car could spin for 10+ but your resistance massive but it still spins due to rotational mas.. just a thought

I have a excelsheet for the TA04/TRF414. You can alter this if you like for the Evo III. The only thing you need to change is the diff reduction.

All you need to do is divide the pinion into the spur and multiply that number by 2.6 (Evo 3's internal ratio) to get your final drive ratio.

Example.

90 spur and 31 pinion:
90/31 x 2.6 = 2.9 x 2.6 = 7.54 FDR

yeah i know that, its just i wanted to try something and to go it i got to read off alot of ratios

I remember seeing this chart somewhere and it was like

TB EVO 3 - gear ratio chart for 64 and 48dp

and it was like a massive list of ratios for both size gears.
i seen it on tftr forum but i cant get on that for sum wierd reason?

If you know how to calculate the FDR, just use Excel to put together the table.
