kdeezee, everyone here is super helpful, but there are a ton of pages to this thread. I'm almost sure you can find all of you answers through here. I know its a pain, but we can't direct you to the exact page. Lot's of digging, but tons of info. Good luck

I agree, there is tons of info in this thread and I'm sure if you take the time, have a coffee, and give it a nice read, you will know A LOT about the Evo3. And we won't have to add more replies to look through...woops I just did.

got 2 diffs

1 diff has D cut diff rings

the others got O cut

the D cuts slipness is perfect

the O cut ones slip and loosen alot

how about if i used 1 D cut and 1 O cut on each diff

would that be a good idea or bad?

just as a temporary or would it be better keeping them as they are and check on them regularily?

thanks

Using 2 different diff rings in one diff isn´t a good idea. Maybe your car won´t accelerate in a straight line.
But I think even 2 of the O cut rings isn´t a good idea. I wouldn´t use them at all.

Hey guys, just wondering

I've had a diff in one of my evos for a while now, Im using the white surikan out drives, they appear to be very brittle, I had to small accidents, which by no means would brek anything, and both times, one of them has shattered into pieces?

anyone else had this problem?

i'm going to go back to the standard black one in the front I think

Are those the reinforced diff. joints? and if they are they do not sound very reinforced.

lol yeah thats what I thought, I htink they are stronger, but more brittle than the black ones, for the rear they should be fine, but in the front, I think the black ones would be better

Thanks for the info. I just put the reinforced ones on the front but I have yet to run it. I will have to switch them. I did notice at the Novak Race that Charlie runs the standard outdrives and not the reinforced ones.

Default front spool

Ok, I just finished making a spool for the front end. Im getting tired of not having brakes and heard that a spool was the way to go. Does anybody have any experience with running a spool(solid diff) in the Evo??? What should I avoid or whatever?

Generally with a spool in your car will not have as much offpower steering going into corners but will gan a fair amount of on power steering. Normally you will need to increase your castor some to get that off power steering back and you won't really loose ay on power steering. You still drive your car like you have a one way in but now you will have brakes.

Just out of curiosity, how many seconds of free spin should one have on the EVOIII? I have about seven seconds of free spin with rubber tires, and was curious to wheather or not I should get to work on it, or it was ok. Rod, do you have more spin time?

Thanks

Hey Bubbles, I used to get somewhere around 20 but that was almost a year ago. I'm over that now and my cars spin for maybe 7-10 seconds, I'm happy as long as I don't hear gears skipping when I yank the throttle with a mod. Don't worry about it too much as long as its not binding on anything.

Somebody last weekend asked for a setup but I've been too busy to look for it. You can probably find it by using "search" and look for "evo3 setup" or something like that.
