I can get lots of hinge-pins....nice, shiny, polished, hardened steel ones...10 for a buck
I think I can get some 3MM diff balls anywhere...My dad needs some bearings anyway so when he orders from Acer we'll get a bunch of diff balls for our TRF's (he has a 414MII)

Stripping never stranded me in a race ever, so I don't have

the whole gear when there's like 10-12 teeth gone, or more
than 3 in a row.
My twin-diff EvoIII is doing drift duty now.
The other grip racers run oneways.

Its as if there's no punch out of the corners, no fun at all.

New carpet is coming some time this year and with any luck the one way is going back in. even the other racers have noticed my evo doesn't sound like a 2 stroke any more. I am still in the habbit of stripping the car down after every race night to check the diffs only difference is i am not cleaning the teeth up with a blade

No, suggest you stick with the $3 Tamiya ones.
If you put hardened hingepins, you'll end up wrecking the
hingepin mounts instead... and they are EXPENSIVE!!!

I haven't found any proof to date...
The last stripped gear (8 teeth gone) I pulled out was from an SL
that had gone to Thailand to race alongside Lord S., then did
highspeed Velodrome duty straight afterwards.
It definitely wasn't going slow.

its great for distracting the other drivers. my last one way gear has 4 separate flat spots on it. it made a really loud buzzing noise if i backed off the throttle too much but was other wise fine. some of my fastest laptimes have been set with a smashed one way gear

I'm not bashing Speedtech, I'm just saying...thats bullshit that the poor guy with no money ALWAYS ends up getting screwed by something that can't be controlled and has to pay more for it...f'in sucks...why don't the rich people get screwed out of their money more often?
I think my LHS will have them.....Pretty common part I'd think. Then again I thought getting a driveable front diff for a car would be easy

That one day might be coming up real soon... bored bored bored.
Last night got bored enough to give a set of shocks an oilchange.
And the *same* again the night before that.
btw What is it with these TRF fluorine shocks??
Why does the oil get all that grey particles in it???!
Both sets had grey oil.
Now I'm temped to go flush all the other sets too... that'll take all week.

Stop whinging, you US guys have got it so much better than
the Tamiya support in most other parts of the world.
The thrust bearing and the long M2 screw are the hardest bits
to find as spares, methinks you've already really scored.
Its a lot less hassle to buy the TA04 balldiff set or a used diff
and get the whole lot at one go; by the time you've added up
all the costs of posting in from 10 different sources it'll be par.
(albeit some EvoIII owners are Tamiya freaks with a 414 or TA04 and would already have excess spare TA04 bits already leftover in their bits box, so piecing together the EvoIII diff is easy)
Hmm... what's the cheapest TB02 kit??
You'll get TWO whole diffs from that!! hehehe

Dude......I'm not buying a bunch of parts that I'd just leave lying around....I can't eat lunch for the next two weeks already. If I got that stupid 04 diff I'd be out of lunch for atleast a month & a half
I coulda salvaged the screw from something....but I got one anyway I'm not sure if I can get a bearing for that from any other car....I get a fricken top-of-the-line car and its not even mechanically driveable (one-ways do not work at all at the tracks I drive)
Of course I'm not gonna have an 04....or if I did, I sure as hell wouldn't be able to get spare parts for it. I can't afford to be a Tamiya freak, much less a R/C driver

to fall off your car in a bingle... but I like them. Looks nice too!
There's various ways of installing them... simplest being two
5mm ball connectors at the C-hub and top of bellcrank pivot.
Connect it with a suitable rod & 5mm ballends.
(tip: just buy the TL01 turnbuckle steering HopUp pack... perfect!)
If you do it exactly like that... it promotes a little positive camber
when the suspension is fully compressed up; that's only a start.
By spacing either ball connector up, you'll get different effects.
Play around with it spacing whilst you've got it on a setup station.

If you're lucky, you might be able to flog off spare TA04 diff pulley
and spare TA04 outdrives to a willing TA04 owner... for about
what the whole diff set costed...

ever did, and the spares are easy to find around the world.
1/2 the bits in EvoIII come from TA04 anyway.
Tamiya owners in USA enjoy a a good resource "TamiyaUSA".
Believe you can call them up with the partnumber and you can
buy direct from them even; no other distributor does that.

Anyone know of a site with a heathy supply of Tamiya parts? Im looking for the front oneway ring gear, but also for some general spares.. Ive tried speedtech, tower (pain in the butt), stormer hobbies and ulitmate hobbies.... Anyone know of any other Tamiya hot spots for parts?
