I browsed the thread & did not find any feedback on the new CRC Carpet vs. the former version on the CRC Carpet.

Do the tires work better? More traction rolls? Etc...

If the Snowbirds will be on the new carpet, most of our racers have even seen it yet. Any pointers would be Great.

IMO, the new "black" carpet gives more grip. I ran 571/572 combo this weekend on my F1 car and still had more steering than I needed. This combo was quite pushy on my car on the gray carpet.

I have a month running the Trackstar V2 stock spec and I found the same soft bottom end when I ran in my 1/12th. After racing it on 2S (buggy), I found it likes a lot more gear than any other short stack. I ended up 3 teeth up (48P) on the pinion from every other 17.5 buggy with 42*timing.
For 1S, try 40* timing and gear it hard like the old purple stripe Novak motors.
Don't be surprised to see 98~101mm roll-out.

I put the F1 motor pod plates on my car to lower the ride height for the tires. The wheel base ended up around 3/8 inch longer than the stock wheel base. Any recommendations to return it to the stock wheel base?

If you mount the front plate backwards and put the front A arms in the shortest wheelbase position, you will gain some of that back. This is why we shim the pod plates on the SE and LE

My ride height was 8mm with the stock SE pod plates so I would need a 3mm shim to get the rear of the car down to 5mm. So now my question is: Are you shimming that thickness? And does that mean the motor in your setup sits 3mm higher than it does in regular WGT trim?

Counting down to the Snowbirds and my first time racing World GT-R.

My car is packed and ready to go, after a brief shakedown run in the UK. Lots of interest in the GT-R class from UK racers, and those that saw the car at the recent National (and pictures shown at the Reedy Race) were impressed.

Yes we are shimming it that far. You cannot feel it at all. Our new rubber car that is coming takes care of that problem. But if you were on the driver stand and I put down a car with the motor shimmed and a car without the motor shimmed up, you could not tell me which one was which at this speed.
