The Hiro Seiko kit is good, but really only needed if you have a big heavy speedo and need to cut weight. Between stock spec esc's and pro lite bodies I'm still adding 30-40g of weight. I've been running Axon bearings which I have really like so far. I'm not convinced ceramic are worth the cost for performance or longevity over Avid dollar bearings. The Axon are noticeably better, but I still use Avid bearings for the diff for shear cost. At least up until January... Since then I haven't even looked at a diff.

Looks great! And nice photo skills btw. As you are running spec, I would recommend grabbing a full size ball cup for the center shock so you can move the front shock mount back a hole. I tried the long shock in all the classes and it was always too mellow for carpet. And if you're on black carpet, an extra left side hub to make a locker. Scroll back a few pages and you can get my setup from ROAR, Donny's, and I think EA's.

Running 17.5T on a super smooth black carpet track. Ordered a spool from EA Motorsports.

Still getting used to the driving style of 1/12. One of the local fast guys in TC but look like a rookie in 1/12.

The driving style is completely different. As bad as I am with my 1/12, I'm even worse with a TC!

Switched to a short shock setup and will follow your setup from a few pages back except for the front springs. I have Roche silver, hard, medium, soft, and AE.18 to pick from. What would you recommend?

Also what's the reason behind shimming the center pivot ball up .5mm?

The spool felt so much better for me at SCRC even with a green layout, no more hiking, more drive out of the corner and I dropped my average lap by half a second!

I would start with the AE .018. Shimming up the rear pivot changes the roll center and should help gain some rotation. I've tried 1mm and it got weird. If the car ever feels weird, after you've gone through toe, droop, etc, take the shims out. Just make sure you shim evenly across all the rear pivots points, links, pivot mount, pivot ball.

Default Graphite or Aluminum Chassis?

Hi all,

I'm getting back into 12th scale racing, modified class. Any thoughts on getting the graphite vs aluminum chassis version for medium grip carpet? I race in Seattle, USA; we don't use black carpet.

Thanks!
Sam

The carbon chassis is perfect for grey carpet.

Check with Brian Bodine (slapmaster on rctech). He would be your local fast roche guy.
