Building my 419

Did you guys have this issue the arms were a little tight and the suspension arms were no falling on their on weight ... Couple of things I noticed the shims provided were not exactly the correct thickness they were off (thicker) by as much as .07 to .03

My solution was I got a 1000 grit to take off material and 2000 grit sand paper to polish the shims and finally got to the correct thickness the arms are now free falling by its own weight

Use instead a 0,5 Shim (Kit) a 0,3 Shim and you have a free falling arm.

Sandpaper is great. Jeweler Rouge is better. I use Metal gloss from Master Formula...

It can vary arm to arm though. Don't be obsessed with having the same number of shims at all four corners. Making them slop free and free falling is the primary aim. A 0,05mm or 0,1mm difference arm to arm is fine. If you are getting larger differences than that, reset the blocks - loosen screws (1/4turn) and tap the arms etc.

direct from Hiro Seiko. they should be arriving at local dealers now.

Thanks. I don't know of any dealers in the states.

I'm not hating, but the TRF419 wasn't looking so hot at the Hot Race this past weekend. I'm not sure as to why Marc R. is having such difficulties with the handling of the car. The car should be dialed in by now or at the very least a podium contender.

All good things come to an end.. Maybe it's time for MR to move on. Maybe that's why Tamiya hired NM

@Edward

I have no information about the race, not even on MR Facebook page.
Can not believe that the 419 will not run properly in Marc hands? Setup maybe steal from Völker :lol:

Any Link?

@Edward, thanks

Viktor Wilck better than his Team Mate Marc M33 Rheinard?

Please Marc, use the Setup from a Yokomo and your Car always fly over the Race Way :nod:

Marc posted his progress. The car did well but he had some issues in the races, he had a couple of collisions which drastically affected his pace (Busted a wheel in one race)

Patrick Folman did really well in his 419 and got into the A finals and managed 8th. Interested to see how the rest of the season develops.
