Why the roche cups - aren't the new ones blade free? Didn't want to try them?

Shorter turnbuckles are an oddity. I was thinking of grabbing a BD7 (Lunsford) kit to use, the equivalent are all slightly shorter than typical Tamiya as well.

What screws have you used - your button heads all have a little lip?

I think I try the Arrowmax BD7 Aluminium Chassis for Carpet :D
Tonisport 25€

I use the Roche Cups and Roche HD Double Joint since I drive the TRF V5. The Tamiya Cups and Double Joint where not very stable, as an experience I made.

Little Lip? The screwas are from square Alu Titan and some Arrowmax Titan Screws the darker ones.

Finished the 419 Build blog post yesterday.
In case you have not got the 419 yet, I hope it will help show the details of the car.

First Race with 419

Did the first racing with the 419 last weekend on a very small and technical Track, carpet with medium Grip. 17.5 Blinky, LRP VTec CPX rubber tyres.

Started with Kit Setting what was nice and very easy to handle with good steering, but not aggressive enough. Then changed setup to:

Yokomo pink in front
Yokomo blue in rear
Droop f/r 5.8 / 4.6
Without lower Rollcenterspacer
Camber f/r -2 / -1.5
Shocks: #500 oil front & rear

Car was still very easy to drive with very good steering especially in narrow corners, but again not aggressive/ direct enough. Reduced droop in front to 6.0 what was leading into right direction, but there is still work Do for a sharp handling. Will try some harder springs and stabilizers next time.

BUT: my Diff was leaking too, first the housing (gasket) and then the left outdrive. Drops were already running down, there. Right side of diff stayed dry. Used the dark red TRF o-rings. Also all shocks are massively leaking, used the ink blue TRF o-rings. Very disappointing....will change to the old cristal clear ones because refilling dampers during a race day is a nogo to me.

But the 419 is a fantastic car, I am glad to own one😄😄😄😄

One thing in the manual I almost missed. The spur gear in the kit is pretty thin in the middle. To use thicker spur gears you won't be able to get the E-clip on, but you can leave the E-clip off the spur gear axle and use some spacers instead.

The new gear diff leaks too?!

If nothing is seriously wrong with the parts, there should be no leaks, kit parts or upgrades. I would check my handiwork again if that is the case. Never thad any Tamiya shocks leak, ever.

Agreed. I do run either VG shock grease or green slime as well though. I've never had a diff leak either (but also run 2000-5000 diff oil which probably helps.

My Diffs leaked too... But i may have over filled it...

I had slight shock sweating... but thats normal for me...
