so is the xr kit designed for crc black carpet? or is there an aftermarket chassis that would be better suited to black carpet?

i run XR with the WS aluminium chassis on black CRC carpet and it’s amazing. There is an XR Aluminium chassis being released next month.

so i should suck it up for another month before i swap to the xr is what you are saying...
what springs are you guys using? everyone swears by progressives at my local track. what brand springs fit, yokomo looks close.

In short yes.. the WS Aluminium chassis is hard to come by and the XR Aluminium will have all the optional / stiffness holes for the XR motor mount.

i use X-ray springs, readily available at my track. majority seem to use SMJ.

i think I have progressive in front and standard in back

ok cool... i was looking at the samix chassis too but i will wait. i guess i need to get on the springs for now then. i may try yokomo since i am yokomo dealer too. i am not familiar with SMJ.

samix made a chassis for the 419... the 419x is a bit of a different car.. it’s almost a new car.. Samix chassis would not work with it

I use SMJ springs (front progressive, rear linear) as well as roll bars and they are very, very good. WS alu chasis with XR mod. Front 2.5-3.0, rear 3.0 on black carpet.

Is the old trf red o-ring for diff better than the black one come with the XR? The xray oring is too big to use in the tamiya diff.

I would stick with either SMJ or XRay. The reason being that a lot of people use those and people can help you with setup if you need it. If you feel comfortable with setup then ignore my advice.
