Hi guys
Just wanna check with you that in the TRF419x manual, there is this section pertaining to adding of 3 ballast weights to the chassis. The manual states that adding of the weights if necessary. In this case, It is not mandatory to add these weights. May I know under what circumstances do we need to add these 3 ballast weights, and what method(s) to use to measure the chassis' weight so as to determine how many and what ballast weights to add?
Thank you.

Depends on where you race. If there is a minimum weight, you might need the ballast to get there.
1350g is common for touring cars. This is now the IFMAR weight as of this year.
Weight is measured as complete and ready to go including transponder, battery, body, body clips etc. As you would place it on the track.

You can run the diffs in low position . I'm currently running my front diff in high position in front and low in the rear . I was lacking front grip and had to much rear grip .

Hi,
Can I get a bit more explanation how diff position effects the car handling and why?
I never changed the "position", just realized this setting change on 419x. I just used for tightening the belt, 1 or 2 step change from KIT setting on 419.
Thank you
Marton

If you change cog you have to tune your roll center too. The result is more or less grip on the affected axle.
Other effect and the most important, is the geometry of the axles (angle of the dogbones). If you lower the diff, you have less on power traction, because the affected axle wants to straighten itself out and press the arm/tire into ground, when you accelerate. If you raise the diff, the effects are vice versa.
It's one of the many tuning options the car offers to you. But tuning the height of diffs is one of the last fine tuning options I would do. Better do the right basic setup first...tires, springs, shock oil, hinge pin blocks etc.
Regards.

Finally got my trf419x home last night.
Got a question about spur and pinion. Kawada 64 pitch. Do spurs between 93-97T with pinions 36-42T physically fit? Want to keep FDR minimum at ETS rules of a min 4.5 on outdoor tracks

As for spares, I have the usual stuff from your list plus diffs, front outdrive, complete DCJs, axles blades, kingpin bushings and turnbuckles.
