Update ..
Drive train pretty much done just needs mounting and wiring .
Something that I thought was going to be one of the easiest parts "drive train" turn out to be a headache ..I bought most of it from hobbyking thinking it would be very simple ..but ended up being full custom . Not much left of the diff I bought .its all fully solid with a machined up and tig welded input shaft onto the hardened main gear .
Motor is mounted up high because of lack of room as well as trying to keep some weight over the front wheels as well as clearing the steering sero.. This unit will sit snug between the lipo and esc so I made my own carbon fiber guarding to keep it all safe .

why do you need a fan?if its only for drag racing,i cant see the motor getting hot within 5 secs

great project ,i can see it flipping back wards a lot, battery could go on the front bumper to help keep the nose down, and balance will be your enemy if you dont get the side to side balance perfect itll hook on just one wheel spinning it out
good luck, look forward to seeing some runs

Very nicely done, sly. Gonna be a handful, though. Can hardly wait to see the action shots.

I ran a fan on my drag cars. Not so much for the cooling, but feeling the vibration of the fan through the chassis re-assured me the electrics were really on when I staged up for a race. You'd be surprised how many rounds of racing I won against cars that the driver forgot to switch on before staging. Staging up is a real busy time in r/c drag racing. Easy to overlook the big thing.

Sly? Do you know Stewart and the gang over at QMDRA?

Thanks guys ..
Yeah it's going to be a real handful to drive . The stock 1/10 wheel base will make it hard . The car wasn't built to drag race or compete , more just built for fun from a idea out of my imagination .I love watching "lightsout",kots and x275 cars ..stockish looking standed wheelbase cars, so I set out to build something similar.

I wanted to run the fan because when I ran this motor in my custom AE sc10 doing speed runs It would cook its self very hot and shut off the esc .so I thought It would attach a big fan :/ ..but its kind of ugly .

Once the cars done and iv done some shake down runs I cant wait to start refining the rear suspension and setting my spring rates ect to get a good launch .thats going to be fun .
I may put front suspension on the car .I have this feeling once the wheels come up then bang down it will crash lol.

Nah I dont know any of thos guys ..

Also another reason for this build was to build a cleaner , refined , better solid diff car than my other nitro project

Plus see who will win in a drag ..1/10 turbo promod .28 bigblock vs 1/10 8.5 turn brushless

Ok ..so heres my fan idea ..I made this up quickly this morning ,I will get rid of the ugly heatsink and iv made this fan setup with a carbon guard that should direct air towards the motor .it will sit infront of the lipo battery. I will not get the efficient cooling of a heatsink but it will get a nice air flow. Anyways it will make the car alot cleaner

thanks alot . yeah the body posts will be trimmed when i work out the ride height i want .

i love building these projects and showing them off , i know alot of people watch the build but dont comment so sometimes it is hard to know if a project like this is really wanted here . i know rc tech is full of mostly racers . i really enjoy creating cars from nothing . making parts work that were not made to "drop right in" .. anybody can order from the "options list /hopups" and fit something that was designed for your car . the real challenge is making random parts fit and look like its from a factory .
