Default PROJECT: street/strip cruiser "live diff"

Hi all .
This is my carbon fiber cruiser im building,.car is built with a solid crawler axle and bar rear end like a proper 1/1 street strip car . Turning out pretty well the car was originally going to be nitro but now the car will be brushless/lipo ..
Still in mock up stage at the moment but its a working roller .waiting on the rest of the power train to arrive , then a few alignment fixes and tidy ups then it will be finished.

Very cool! I love creative, custom builds. Digging the solid rear. Drag car?
I feel like there should be more R/C doorslammer drag cars--like a scale X275 or 10.5 class car.

Cheers buddy . Yeah I love the whole x275 scene kind of the inspiration for this .I wanted a car with drag looks and a fat rear end but something you could actually drive around a car park ect it has abit more ground clearance ..rc drag cars are not really made to be driven around . Not to mention rc drag cars dont look very realistic .

The ae86 body is just something I had pre cut and painted I used for dementions for the chassis .I will look at doing another body for this.

I think you should go back and triangulate 2 more links so it's a true 4link rear, as opposed to a 2 link with a brace so The axle doesn't move,

That and maybe moving the wheelie bar out farther otherwise it is looking sweet!

Hey panda .. first plan of attack was a full 4 link , after I did this two bar set up it seems to be nice and solid but I suppose I wont know untill I put torque through the rear end .I may have to do another set of links . The losi axle only has 4 mounting points so it makes it harder..
My other car I did a full 4 link 4 rod end rear end ..very solid
.that car was not as neat as this new one it was just over kill to prove it all worked . It works well

Wheely bars are just really for show they work but would work better longer but then they would be seen more .I like them hidden under the body out of sight .. true x275, the car should be on its bumper

Hey guys ..just trying to work out the mph /ratio of this car before I put a Pinon gear on it .are the Internet calculators any good?
8.5t 4000kv motor
44t center spur
2.5/1 rear diff
3s lipo
14t Pinon

60mph? Sound accurate?

If the tires and wheels have a diameter of 3.7 in (my guess on what they are) then with no drag it should do about 70mph.

Since the tires could be larger or smaller than my estimate you would loose or gain a little speed.

Taking into account friction and all that jazz it would go significantly slower. Than the 70mph the math says it will do. You are probably looking at somewhere in the 50-60 range.

I think that's going to be you biggest problem, control. That pan car style front end is going to be extremely sensitive to steering inputs.
