Man those are high numbers. Trinity Team driver Bill Rondeau is saying gear them around 6.69.

for what size track? technical or open?

here ares has a whole 120 ft straight. and its tight but still flows through the infield. motors at 7.8 are still gaining at the end of the straight for me.

He didn't say but at 6.69, it better be open and have at least a 100' straight!

The new Monster motor armature appears VERY similar to the MVP and Peak/Orion motor. However the lamitations are cut as to time the magnetic field. It also does not have the " Power Tunnels" I am curious to know if this motor performs as well or better than the Peak/Orion motor. i am using one in my XXXT on a VERY small track, but I am eating every one up (Peak RS24) I am only geared 1 tooth smaller than a P2K. This motor is less smooth than and of my P2ks though and am wonder if this new Trinity motor is smooth and quite, and does it get REALLY hot???
Thanks

Pit Crew: Try a narrowed 766 brush in the MVP/Hellfore/Core. These work well and then gear like a P2k. Reduces the heat of the motor and produses more torque.

How narrow are you cutting them. I have heard to cut them to around .140-.150 I was also thinking of cutting them to the width of the P94 brush which is 4.5mm or about .180.

Hi guys,
just a little question for you...
i have a MR4 TC Worlds Edition which i am running indoors on a fairly small carpet track with one longish straight of about 30/40yards, the rest of it made up of hairpins, 90 dregree corners and couple of corners you can take almost straight lined of about 20 yards.
i am running Orion Core stock with a final drive ratio of 7.15 (78-24). does this sound about right to you or should i be looking to change?
any info greatly appreciated, i have been racing about 2 months now and not doing too bad (generally placed 3rd or 4th) but want to improve

thanks for your time

A good way to find a starting point on gearing is to watch where the speed tops out on the longest straightaway. You want it to top out just as you approach the turn at the end of the straight, so increase the pinion one tooth at a time until you get it right. Once you get that set, you can tune it for the rest of the track. That should make it pretty easy to get the most out of the car even if the track changes layout. Good luck!

it seems like that is about the height of the brush. So why even use laydow. This is like using a stand up brush, but less surface then that. I will try it and see how it works, but it seems to me less current carying ability.
