Not saying that these numbers are good; but, I haven't trashed any motors due to heat issues.
Immediately after an outdoor run in approximately 70*F temps, my Monster Pro typically ends up being 145-150*F on the bottom side and 165-170*F on the top of the can. I average this out as 155-160*F. When I have taken motor temps on multiple Monsters, they have always been about 20*F warmer on the top side of the motor than the bottom. Hmmm...Good reason for a fan on top, eh!
Not saying that these numbers are good; but, I haven't trashed any motors due to heat issues.

I hear Trinity actually uses a higher power magnet but it is much more sensitive to what typically happens to a motor than anyone else's mags...

Did some testing with my monster stock, purple/purple springs and trinity 4505 cross cuts today and compared them back to back with 767's and red/green springs. Comm was cut before each test and the motor was run in till both brushes had full wear across the brush face.
The purple/purple and 4505 combo gave more snap out of the corners and slightly quicker top-end. As was expected. After the run I put it on a friends pulsar comp at 3v and it was pulling 6.5 amps(after a 5min run). The serrations were almost gone and two light passes cleaned up the comm. The brushes are in better condition then I thought they'd be, very very slight dis-colouration around the contact end of the brush but the brush face looks fine. Motor temp after the run was as expected, hotter then usual.
I ran in some putnam green brushes but I ran out of time to run them. On the weekend I'll run the putnam green/green with purples spings back to back with the 4505's and purple springs and see if there is a distinct difference. I'll also check the amp draw of the putnams after one run so I can compare them.
On another note I checked the amp draw of the frankenstien stocker I posted a few weeks ago, mvp can, p2k2 arm, 36* timing, ball bearings, stand-up hoods with quaser brushes. At 3v it is pulling 7 amps. On the track against an 11t mod mod it keeps up on the in-field and half way down the straight and then whipped due to lack of rpm. Should work ok for 19t though.

Okay, I have to get this settled.
What is the best company for tuned stock electric motors? Is it a large company like Trinity or Orion, or a smaller company?
And what motor would be good for a short to medium length track with many hairpin turns and some longer straights?

Guys. Need some help here.
What motor is recommended for an endurace race?
There will be a race where the 1st car to reach 400laps is considered the winner.
So what motor will be a better bet on a race like this?
For ref, mod and stock diff is only 1 lap in a 5 min race.
