Default castor block and hub inserts qtn

i've been reading that you should superglue these inserts into the blocks and hubs to eliminate excess play. What happens if you slam a wall do you have to re-glue? Will the old castor blocks and hubs still work because i dont think i want to use inserts for these.

Thx

Yes, the old ones do work. However, once you have glued the inserts into the blocks, they are now the same thing. There is no more slop with the new ones compared to the older ones as long as you do glue them.

How easy is it to replace an insert once you glue it?

Congrats to all TC6.2 owners! I hope you enjoy the car. Please feel free to post a lot of pictures of your car (chassis and details). This will make the waiting time more bearable for those who have to wait. Thank you

The inserts don't break. It will be the block. New blocks come with inserts. And now you don't have to carry around a couple of sets of all of them, you carry a couple of sets total. If you keep breaking them on the right side of the car, keep building those ones. You won't have a pile of lefts sitting in your pit box.

I was kind of skeptical on them when they first came out but now I love them.

ok well maybe it doesnt break, however ive broken some stuff, what if it wears out and gets sloppy, that does happen, its a matter of time is all. i just ordered the inserts, please explain how you glue the insert into the arm mount, which part and where you glue it in detail would be great also do you use ca glue or shoo goo?

My bad, I'm thinking about the c hub block.

Even with the hinge pin inserts, the inserts will wear out. Having some on hand is a good idea. I would use a touch of shoe goo just to hold them into the block. I don't have the car yet but I'm thinking it will be fairly similar to the old Thunder Tiger 1/8 buggy. The inserts should be plenty strong base on where they're placed. Even with the TC5-present, I haven't seen a hinge pin block break that I can recall, just wear out.

ok so what about the inserts in the caster and the c hubs? ive had those just wear out on me rather than break, and had to replace them

ive also hit the wall and had the inserts in the arms for the lower shocks come out those get super glued in haha

If those are wearing out, it's just time to replace them. It doesn't happen all that fast and they are very inexpensive parts to replace.
