Anyone else finding that making changes on asphalt seems to do next to nothing

Best 'tuning' so far seems to be choice of front wings and rear wing position.

Every one I've seen had killed the rear bearings, they have such a small sidewall

I bought a ten pack with my X1 kit

Has anyone found a alum servo arm with same length and offset as the stock saver?
cant seem to find the hudy offset one

I have experimented some change with the front. Changing spring rate (softer) has some effect. Changing angles I think, has smaller effect. Probably because the front is quiet flexible.

Here's a pic of my X1 on the Tech Table at 2015 Mile High Indoor Championship in Denver, Colorado last weekend. This car managed to finish in 2nd place in the F1 B-Main. Not too bad for being the first weekend I ever drove the car.

Here's a pic of Drew Ellis' X1 on the A-Main grid at the 2015 Mile High Indoor Championship. Drew's car ended up winning the A-Main. Mario Ficco finished 2nd with his CRC WTF1 and Robert Bakoczy finished 3rd with his VBC.

What was Drew's carpet setup?

re: rear axle bearings:

Maybe we can get Bill Jeric at Tuning Haus, or Exotek Mike, to make a rear ride height insert that will take a bearing with a BIGGER outer diameter.....
please!!!

+1

The bearings may be fine for 1/12 but doesn't look like its enough for 1/10th rubber! You know X-Ray can't make the car too perfect, they have to add it as a feature on the new X1 2016 car coming out in 8 months. (optimized)

Why not just buy some AVID bearings and replace them when needed? At a dollar a bearing it's not a big deal. I just checked my stock bearings. They seem fine. Plenty of run time on them.

hi guys, just about to put in a big rc order and am going to start getting serious about running my x1. Any suggestions on what parts break easily that I should stock up on?

Also what front wing are most people running? I've been looking at the tamiya J-parts front wing. Is this any good?

Many thanks

done that.

But the bearings get killed DURING a run, rather that didn't happen if all it takes is a slightly bigger outer diameter bearing.

Every X1 I have seen has failed to finish a race due to this issue at least once, at my track.

Big difference between a ~100' track and a ~200' track, as far as the speeds and g's a rear axle takes a hit and blows the bearing, it is not from wear....

I get what you are saying. Side loads are one thing but hitting stuff and expecting them to survive it quite another. Could it be the actual Xray bearings or is this happening with all other bearings?

The Xray rear flanged bearings are not great at all. I use the Avid bearings - much better. I have not a failed one yet.
