Xray X1 - Formula One Car
#3124
Well after a quite a unsucessfull few weeks of looking, it seems that the X1 diff is finally going back into production...but it's 4 weeks out. So if you have the diff, it's best to take care of it since you wont be able to buy a new one till like Early December.

Apologies if I'm in the wrong thread but need some help fixing my car. I just bought my first Formula One - 2015 Xray X1 RTR.
I tried to race it for the first time and the car doesn't move when I press the trigger. All I hear is some gear noises (I think) coming from the axle. I checked the motor pinion and it's tight. I removed/inspected the axle and turned it in opposite directions and felt notchy. Is that normal or does it need to be really smooth? How tight does the nut that holds the spur gear and everything else needs to be? What do you guys think the problem is?
What would be the correct pinion gear for this setup? The car came with a LPR X12 Vector 5.0 motor, and Ko propo Orion Vortek ESC (not sure the exact model) and SMC Graphene Extreme V2 5200 battery.
and lastly, where do you guys buy parts from? I normally go to Amain but would like other options.
Thanks

The best thing to do would be use the manual (if it didn't come with one, download it) and re-build the diff. I assume it has the standard ball diff in it. It should be smooth and tight enough so you can only just move the spur gear with your hands when you're holding the wheels.
Also a 5.0 motor is huge overkill for an F1!!! They normally race with 21.5 or 25.5 turn motors.
