I've been reading about the Sanwa, does it have a 60/40 throttle stick?

With so many company's making upgrades for the 417 I'm tempted to keep mine and upgrade it rather than buy a 418.

Arms are dimensionally identical, with the 418 versions eliminating lower shock options ("refining" lower shock options :))

The 418 fronts save position 1 from the previous versions.

The 418 rears save position 2.

Pin blocks carry over, so no change there.

Rear uprights are the same, except the 418 has one ball hole, between the two on the older version.

As for feel differences between the arms, I've only recently switched to 418 plastics and have one rain-shortened day on them. I can say the car (a 417X with the Wilck Reedy deck) felt great--the same as new plastics always seem to feel better, no better or worse than new "old" plastics feel.

Obviously, the 418 has different bulkheads and whatever subtle differences happen there, but the plastics and pin blocks are much to exactly the same.

I was running a Raceberry 417 with all 418 parts (arms, uprrights, steering arms. It was really good, but what I noticed right before I switched to a straight 418 is that the 418 front arms mount the c-hubs 2mm back compared to the 417 arms. So you have to space the 418 arms 2mm forward. I believe that is why the box stock 418 setup has you mount the 418 arms with 3mm spacer behind the front arms while my old 417 called for the spacer in front of the arms.

Thanks for the info
I see the 418 uses the shortest top link hole on the bulkhead is this equivalent to the middle hole on the 417?

So apparently at rd 4 of ETS rheinard was running a heap of worlds development parts - couldn't get it together in quali, but by the end of the mains he was able to set the fastest lap of the weekend.

I wonder when we will start to see some images of what they have changed? Nothing on redrc - yet....

Doubt your see anything until the worlds. If they have found an edge they wont want everyone to know about it...

I wouldnt read too much into chassis reports that you see on Redrc etc as they are not always 100% ;-)

Sorry guys but do anyone know how the yokomo YOKB7413W Hub fit at the TRF?

Because the are suitable for left and right and not like a Tamiya hub for only left or only right.

The only thing I have seen on pics is the new hub carriers. http://www.thercracer.com/2014/05/ta...orced-hub.html

There are no good pics of the rear end of the chassis, but the one blurred one I have seen it looks pretty normal (Although from the top and the low quality shot it is hard to see if its a Samix style mount or the std one.

Where's the best retailer to find a new 418? Prices seem to vary wildly depending on where I look.

You're late by one week. Tower was running it at $542 with additional $75 off for tower club members. Now it's back up to $749.

I'd keep my eye on their site, they may run that special again.. It's the second time they've ran it since March.

Was looking over my 418 today and noticed that my front pulley has a fair amount of side to side play. Is that something you guys are shimming? Never really noticed this before and don't remember this on any 417's. The car is almost new, and built per kit instructions.

Qatmix 05-14-2014 03:46 AM

Checked mine and its fine (No shims) and I have been racing all year with the car.

Maybe you have fitted the belt tensioners incorrectly and its rubbed the pulley a little?
